A Call for nominations for the 2025 Kuwait Prize in the fields of science, literature, and arts

As part of Ain Shams University's commitment to enhancing the scientific participation of faculty members and encouraging distinguished researchers to apply for prestigious research awards, the university invites faculty staff to apply for the 2025 Kuwait Prize, awarded by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) in recognition of the achievements of Arab and Kuwaiti researchers in various scientific, literary, and artistic disciplines.

It is worth noting that the Kuwait Prize has been awarded annually since 1979 to honor researchers who have made distinguished scientific or literary contributions.

The prize includes:

* A cash reward of 40,000 Kuwaiti dinars (approximately $135,000)

* A gold medal

* A certificate of appreciation

It is awarded in five fields of knowledge, the categories of which change annually.

The 2025 prize areas are:

1. Basic Sciences: Mathematics (algebra, mathematical modeling, differential equations, statistics, data science, etc.).

2. Applied Sciences: Environmental Sciences (atmosphere, climate, biodiversity, water pollution, etc.).

3. Economic and Social Sciences: Sociology (rural, urban, cultural, internet, women, population).

4. Humanities, Arts, and Literature: Literature and Art in the Arab World (textual analysis, poetry, music, visual arts).

5. Emerging Interdisciplinary Sciences: Computational Biology and its Applications (Bioinformatics, Theoretical Biology, etc.).

Nomination Requirements:

The nominee must be of Arab nationality, and documents proving Arab origin must be attached.

Nominees must not have previously won the award, and nominations in more than one field are not permitted.

The nominee must hold a doctorate or fellowship (in medical specialties).

The scholarly output must be published within the last 20 years in an innovative and consistent manner, including peer-reviewed research, books, or patents.

Nominations are open through official bodies, as well as self-nominations, provided they provide three letters of recommendation.

The deadline for receiving nomination applications is Saturday, May 31, 2025.

Therefore, the university urges faculty staff at the university's faculties who meet the criteria to apply quickly and submit the required documents on time.
