The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced the closing date for applying for the "Alliance and Development" initiative on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. This initiative is part of presidential initiatives aimed at achieving comprehensive and sustainable development.

The Ministry had opened the applying for the initiative on February 18, with the aim of supporting partnerships between academic and research institutions, government agencies, civil society, and the public and private sectors. This goal is to maximize the role of innovation and scientific research outputs as an effective factor within the framework of the Ministry's national strategy to implement the Egyptian government's 2024-2026 work program and Egypt Vision 2030.

The initiative seeks to form development alliances operating in promising economic sectors with high growth rates, within specific geographic areas. Each alliance will become a driver of economic development, a breeding ground for innovative ideas and successful companies, and a leader in job creation. Alliances will cooperate and integrate to maximize the use of available resources and share accumulated expertise, which will have a profound impact on wealth building and promoting equality and social justice.

Each alliance must include five main types of stakeholder partners: a university or research center (as a focal point), a relevant government agency, investors, incubators, and accelerators, private sector companies, and entrepreneurs who founded fast-growing startups.

The initiative's vision is to make each alliance a driver of economic development, a platform for creative ideas, and an incubator for emerging projects, with a focus on developing innovative solutions to address local challenges and open up to global markets through collaboration between various parties and the utilization of available human, technological, and knowledge resources.

The "Alliance and Development " is a pioneering model that reflects the country's drive toward a knowledge economy and promotes the concepts of social justice and equality by supporting entrepreneurial projects and developing local communities based on innovative scientific foundations.
