Prof. Farid Moharam appointed as Dean of the Faculty of Business

His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi issued a decree appointing Professor Farid Moharam Farid Ibrahim as Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Ain Shams University, for a three-year term.

It is worth noting that Prof. Farid Moharam is a professor of financial accounting at the Faculty of Business, at Ain Shams University, and an expert in health cost accounting. He served as the Faculty's Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs from 2023 until he assumed his position.

He has held several prestigious academic and administrative positions, most notably Dean of the Faculty of Management, Financial and Economic Sciences at Badr University in Cairo (2021–2023), Executive Director of the Institute of Continuing Education and Professional Development at Badr University in Cairo (2021–2023), and Supervisor of the Department of Accounting and Auditing at the Faculty of Business, at Ain Shams University.

He also founded the Credit Hour Program and Credit Hour Control at the Faculty of Business, Ain Shams University. He also founded and directed the Institute of Continuing Education and Professional Development at Badr University in Cairo in 2022.

He has also served as an associate professor of accounting at several prestigious universities, including the Arab Academy for Science, Maritime Transport and Technology, the American University in Cairo, Misr International University, Future University in Cairo, and the Egyptian Chinese University.

Prof. Farid Moharam has extensive professional experience, having been a member of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Healthcare since 2018. He has also worked as a financial and economic advisor to the Governor of Port Said, a financial expert at the Egyptian Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization, and a financial expert for the World Bank as part of the “100 million Health” initiative and the Hepatitis C eradication initiative. He is also a member of several scientific and professional committees and councils, boards of directors of various bodies, and several NGOs and civil society organizations. He is also a training consultant for several local and regional organizations.

His Excellency also made significant contributions to the development of academic programs, having co-founded and managed the Professional MBA program in partnership with Heriot-Watt University (2009–2014), in addition to his role in establishing the Credit Hours Program at the Faculty of Commerce, Ain Shams University, preparing its academic regulations, and establishing and managing the partnership program with Kean University and Ocean College.

His Excellency also played a distinguished role in supporting student initiatives and international training at the Faculty of Business, at Ain Shams University. He supported students in the credit hour program to participate in a one-month training scholarship at Kyushu University in Japan during the summer of 2019, as part of the Egyptian Japanese Education Initiative. He also supported students from the faculty to study for a full year at the University of Chicago in cooperation with the scholarship program for Egyptian university students affiliated with the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development (2019-2020). He also supported students from the faculty to participate in international competitions such as the CFA competition.

Prof. Farid Moharam has made numerous research contributions in the fields of accounting and auditing, covering topics such as the application of international accounting standards, corporate governance, financial disclosure, and financial risk analysis. His research has been published in prestigious academic journals such as "Accounting Thought" and "Journal of Financial and Business Research."

He has also supervised 100 researchers as principal or co-supervisor for academic master's degrees, 30 researchers as principal or co-supervisor for academic doctoral degrees, 50 researchers as principal supervisor for professional master's degrees (MBA), and 75 researchers as principal supervisor for professional doctorate degrees (DBA).

Prof. Farid Moharam has also participated in numerous conferences and workshops as a keynote speaker, enriched the scientific library with several publications, and implemented a series of training programs in both Arabic and English.
