The aim of this call is to invite experts at Ain Shams University to submit proposals for ASU-Supported research projects. The project should include researchers from one or more of the university faculties.

Deadline: 15 May 2023 - Application is submitted online through the University website.

Budget per Project:

• 50 to 100 thousand Egyptian Pounds for Regular Projects.

• 300 thousand Egyptian Pounds for Projects involving more than one ASU Faculty.

Project Duration: 6 to 12 Months, starts 1st of July 2023.

Eligibility Criteria:

1.All research disciplines and all faculties are invited.

2.Must follow the application template, and the fund should be within the guidelines.

3.Address one of the topics of Ain Shams University research strategy.

4.Basic or Applied research.

5.Should result in a journal publication, at least Q2. Otherwise, the researcher will refund the project funding received from the University.

Application Template:

1.List of team members. 3 to 4 researchers are recommended, and collaboration between Ain Shams University faculties is encouraged.

2.Application context. Is this part of a running project with insufficient funding, a postgraduate study, a personal initiative, a continuation of a previous work, … etc.  

3.Information about the applicant research group inside the university. The applicant should belong to a research group with past history in managing funded projects. The applicant himself might not have received a funded project before.

4.Including an industrial partner with/without funding is strongly recommended.

5.Abstract, not more than half a page.

6.Alignment with the Ain Shams University Strategic Plan.

7.Introduction and Background, including brief review of related research, past/current.

8.Research Methodology, not more than 2 pages.

9.Project Time-plan.

10.Expected outcomes and deliverables, not more than half a page.

11.Available facilities to support the project inside the university.

12.Detailed Budget in specified format.

13.Time commitment of different team members.
