On Graduates Day... the Faculty of Al-Alsun honors the graduates of the first batch of the Spanish Language Department

The Spanish Language Department at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, at Ain Shams University, organized a graduates’ day under the patronage of Prof. Salwa Rashad - Dean of the Faculty, under the supervision of Prof. Yasmine Mahmoud Ahmed - Head of the Department, in order to support communication with the department’s members, both old and recent graduates, and as an expression of the department members’ and students’ appreciation for the department’s first graduates, the graduates of the first and second batches of the Spanish Language Department at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, at Ain Shams University, were honored, The graduates of the class of 1961, Mr. Mahmoud Fikri Abdel Samie - the translator and former broadcaster in the Spanish section of the programs directed at the Egyptian Radio, and the graduates of the class of 1962, Mrs. Aisha Al-Bashti - former undersecretary of the Ministry of Information and former head of radio stations directed to the world, and Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim Ghannam - first undersecretary of the Ministry of Education attended. Former member of the Board of Directors of the UNICEF Regional Center for Adult Education. On this occasion, the department celebrated the graduates of its first batch who held important positions and worked as presidents and vice presidents of radio stations, media and tourism advisors in Spain and Latin American countries, diplomatic attachés, translators, and professors at Egyptian and Spanish universities.

The ceremony was attended by graduates of the department in all their graduation groups, and they expressed their loyalty to their professors. The department's full-time faculty staff were honored in appreciation of their sincere efforts, continuous giving, and lasting good influence on the souls of their former students. This was followed by honoring Prof. Muhammad Al-Saghir Temsah, the former head of the department, for his efforts during his tenure as head of the department, during which the Spanish Language and Literature program obtained accreditation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education.

The ceremony was also attended by an elite group of graduates of the department who hold doctoral degrees from Egypt or abroad and who work as faculty staff in other Egyptian and foreign universities. Prestigious foreign universities are full of distinguished graduates of the Spanish Language Department, such as Prof. Ali Tawfiq - Professor at the University of Granada, Spain, and Prof. Hanan Saleh - Professor at Pablo de Olabide University in Spain, Prof. Heba Al-Attar - Professor at the University of Cleveland in the United States of America, and Dr. Sherine Sami - Lecturer at Peugeot University in Spain. The department's graduates were honored by faculty staff at other universities for their outstanding scientific and academic performance.

This was followed by a presentation of distinguished graduates of the Spanish Language Department in various fields of work. The presentation included diplomats from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, tourism experts, radio broadcasters, television channel editorial directors, officials from the Ministry of Education, translators, and officials from communications technology companies, where they were honored and presented with certificates of thanks and appreciation. To them for their outstanding performance during their professional career.

After that, Dr. Yasmine Mahmoud Ahmed - Head of the Spanish Language Department, made a conversation with Mr. Salah Atris Abdullah - Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Talento Travel, and Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Al-Sayyad - Regional Director of Vodafone Smart Solutions, they are graduates of the department and members of the board of directors of the Spanish Language and Literature Program at the faculty. The dialogue presented an introduction to the attending students about the nature of work in the fields of tourism and communications technology, the requirements of the labor market, and the most important skills that the student must acquire to ensure obtaining distinguished job opportunities in the two fields. The two guests also provided many tips to the attending students that would help them during their journey of preparation for entering the labor market. The ceremony concluded with an artistic performance presented by Prof. Youmna Azmi - Assistant Professor in the Department - and Mrs. Suhad Samir - Graduate of the Department and Director of Vodafone International Services Company.
