Today, at the Faculty of Medicine, at Ain Shams University, a welcome meeting was held for the new internship doctors, batch of 2023, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, and Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hospitals, in continuation of the university’s role in caring for doctors and providing a source of distinguished medical education to educate internship students and focus on the practical aspect more than the theoretical aspects to provide distinguished medical service to patients.

         
   
         

The meeting was started by Prof. Rania Salah, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, congratulating the graduates and explained to them the importance of continuing to learn and acquire different skills and experiences.

Prof. Hala Sweid, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development, gave a welcome speech to the graduates while encouraging them to make an effort to benefit from the training in the internship year.

Prof. Tariq Youssef, Executive Director of the Hospitals, congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to commit to work and be sincere in it. He also explained that the hospitals open their hands to them, welcoming them to spend the training period with maximum benefit.

Prof. Mustafa Hodhod, Professor of Pediatrics, Advisor to the Dean for Training, and former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, at October 6 University, explained that the internship training period is an opportunity for doctors to acquire scientific skills and various experiences that qualify them to be competent doctors. He recommended to them the necessity of following professional ethics in dealing with patients, benefiting from practical training, and the necessity of adhering to professional ethics.

         
   
         

Also, Prof. Muhammad Nazmi, Director General of Technical Affairs at Hospitals, urged the graduates to continue acquiring skills, explaining to them that the Technical Affairs Office is in contact with them to answer their inquiries and to ensure their training and benefit.

Prof. Marwa El-Deeb, Director of the Training Program for Internship Doctors, gave a presentation defining the training program for internship doctors, clarifying the activities required of doctors, the reliable professional duties required to be accomplished, and the method of evaluating them in the various courses.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Prof. Soha Al-Ashry, Head of the Medical Education Department and member of the Training Committee, responded to the questions of new graduates regarding the training program, activities and assessments required of internship doctors according to the program description.

A number of Ain Shams internship doctors, graduates of the batch of 2022, provided advice to the new graduates regarding the internship year, explaining to them the importance of the training year and how to make the most of the training.
