The Faculty of Arts hosts Major General Dr. Samir Faraj as a discussant of his doctoral thesis in media

Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, at Ain Shams University, received His Excellency Major General Dr. Samir Farag, the political and strategic thinker, during his appointment as a “discussing member” in the committee discussing a doctoral thesis entitled: (The Role of Television Drama in Instilling National Identity among the Egyptian Public), by researcher Rabab Ali Nassar Abdel Baqi.

In the presence of Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Hatem Rabie, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Hanan Salem, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, faculty members in the department, and the researcher’s family.

   
   
   
   

The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Jihan Yousry, Professor of media and former dean of the Faculty of Mass of Communication, at Cairo University, “chairman and discussant”, Major General Dr. Samir Farag, former director of the Department of Morale Affairs of the Armed Forces, and the former governor of Luxor, “member and discussant”, Prof. Heba Shaheen, Professor of Media and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Mass of Communication, at Ain Shams University, “Main Supervisor”, Dr. Ralla Abdel Wahab, Assistant Professor of Media at Ain Shams University, Acting Head of the Department of Public Relations and Advertising at Misr University of Science and Technology, “Co-Supervisor.”

The discussion committee awarded the researcher a doctorate degree in media with first class honors, from the Department of Media. The Supervision and Governance Committee, headed by Prof. Jihan Yousry, praised the subject of the study, which touches on the reality of Egyptian society and deals with the impact of television drama in instilling the values of national identity, and is in keeping with the state’s plans and vision to include the media as a soft power in broadcasting and instilling the values of belonging and patriotism, in accordance with Egypt’s Vision 2030, as the study presents scientific results and monitors a real and lived reality in a clear scientific, academic and methodological manner.
