The President of Ain Shams University opens the “University Employment Forum for the year 2024”

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, opened “The University’s Employment Forum for the Year 2024,” which is organized by the University’s ASU Career Center over the course of two days, February 25 and 26, 2024, from 2 pm to 8 pm at the ASU Career Center’s headquarters within the Dormitory University of Ain Shams University in Abbasiya, With the participation of a large number of prestigious companies and experts from different fields.

         
   
         
         
   
         

This came in the presence of Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Ayman Farid, Assistant Minister of Higher Education for strategic planning, training and qualification for the labor market, Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Director of the ASU Career Center, and a group of deans, deans of faculties, and directors of the centers.

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, confirmed that the forum is an opportunity for graduates and students of Ain Shams University from all faculties and specializations, to meet more than 50 companies from the largest labor market companies and global entities, and to participate in various professional activities over the two days of the forum.

He added that the forum helps all graduates and students by providing real job opportunities and training opportunities within the labor market, in addition to being an excellent opportunity for all students to communicate effectively with companies and learn about the needs of the labor market.

         
   
         

Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, indicated that Ain Shams University works through an integrated system to serve its students, providing them with education as well as providing them with skills that qualify them for the labor market, stressing the university’s role in bridging the gap between market needs and programs that The university offers it to its students by identifying market needs and developing its programs in line with those needs.

Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector, expressed the university’s pride in the level of its students and graduates, thanking the ASU Career Center for organizing this huge event with the large participation of a number of companies and institutions, which confirms the labor market’s interest in the university’s students and graduates.

She confirmed that all parties participating in the employment forum are winners, as it allows students and graduates to learn about the skills required for the labor market, which helps them develop their skills and abilities, especially since the academic certificate alone is no longer sufficient to obtain a unique opportunity in the labor market.

Through communication with workers in the labor market, the university is able to develop its curricula and teaching methods in line with the needs of the labor market, and of course the advertising companies also benefit from meeting distinguished graduates and students.

         
   
         

Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Director of the ASU Career Center, explained that this event was organized after conducting many opinion polls and direct interviews with many companies, students and graduates and at the request of the companies and to ensure providing the best experience for students and graduates.

He added that the Employment Forum contributes to achieving the most important goals of the ASU Career Center, which are linking university studies with the labor market, contributing to the development of the professional skills of students and graduates, and enabling students and graduates to obtain appropriate training and job opportunities, in addition to supporting the university’s role as an essential partner in supporting and building the national economy.

This event also contributes to achieving the center’s vision, which relies on (3) important pillars: the strategy of fourth-generation universities, which responds to the needs of the local economy, and Egypt’s Vision 2030, which focuses on educational goals, capacity building, linking to the labor market, and the needs of the labor market, which is how to link university studies in the labor market.

It is noteworthy that the activities organized over two days, target graduates and students of different faculties, with the first day targeting students and graduates of the scientific sector (the Faculty of Dentistry, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty Pharmacy, the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, the Faculty of Nursing, the Faculty of Agriculture, and the Faculty Girls (Department of Science).

The second day’s activities target the business sector (the Faculty of Business, the Faculty of Al-Alsun) and humanities (the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Information, the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Girls).

On the sidelines of the forum, an integrated set of different activities will be presented, including career talks by partners and experts in various fields (Career Talks and Panel Discussions) and counseling and guidance circles by partners and experts in various fields. (Mentorship Circles), and it is expected that 15 professional mentoring circles will be organized each day during the event, with a total of 30 professional mentoring circles during the two days.

The events will also include professional workshops by partners and experts in various fields. (Generic Workshop) It is expected that 5 professional workshops will be organized every day during the event, with a total of 10 professional workshops over the two days.
