The Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences participated as a platinum sponsor in the Computer Science and Informatics Sector Committee conference CSISCC24 entitled “The Role of Information Technology in Developing the Various Sectors of the Egyptian State in the New Republic,” which was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in the period from 21-22. February 2024 at the Tiba Rose Hotel in Cairo and organized by the Computer Sciences and Informatics Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities, with the participation and presence of the Faculties of Computer and Information Sciences in 24 Egyptian universities.

         
   
         

Prof. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Universities, on behalf of Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, opened the conference. Prof. Iman Ali Tharwat Ismail, Chairman of the Computer Science Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities, and Prof. Muhammad Hashem Abdel Aziz Amin, Committee Secretary, a number of leaders of the Supreme Council of Universities and presidents of Egyptian universities, participated in the opening session.

The participation of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Ain Shams University comes under the patronage of Prof. Nagwa Badr, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Hala Mushir, Deputy for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Rasha Ismail, Vice Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Research.

         
   
         

The conference aims to provide an appropriate vision, strategies and methodologies for building the Egyptian knowledge and innovation society for the new republic through the use of artificial intelligence and modern information technology technologies. The conference sessions consisted of 12 sessions in which about 30 technology and industry experts and local and international private sector companies spoke to discuss and present many topics. The topics related to artificial intelligence for digital transformation include information security, digital forensics, smart cities, smart transportation, technological solutions, digital media, digital transformation, the role of artificial intelligence in the health sector, the Decent Life project, and the role of information technology in supporting the Egyptian economy and localizing technology.
