Ain Shams University hosted the third meeting of the Greater Cairo Region Universities Alliance, which includes the universities of: “Cairo, Ain Shams, Helwan, Al-Azhar and Banha,” where Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, received Vice Presidents of the Alliance Universities: Prof. Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek, Vice President of Cairo University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Waleed Mohamed El-Sorougi, Vice President of Helwan University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. El-Sayed Abdel Hamid Fouda, Vice President of Benha University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Samir Hafez, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering, acting on behalf of Prof. Dr. Vice President of Al-Azhar University, Engineer Ahmed Kamal, acting as Vice President of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, and members of the technical office of the alliance from all universities.

         
   
         

During the meeting, it was agreed to launch a number of comprehensive development convoys in which the efforts of the coalition universities will join forces for various areas most in need, over a period of five consecutive days, scheduled for the beginning of next March, to represent the first joint cooperation activities between the alliance universities.

         
   
         

The attendees also discussed many areas of cooperation between the coalition universities and the Federation of Egyptian Industries, and creative ideas and solutions were presented that serve national industry issues and real problems, and a number of scientific researches were allocated to support and develop industries, especially the aluminum, iron and steel industries, and reduce the carbon footprint by achieving optimal investment in sustainability centers in universities.

The attendees also discussed concluding a cooperation protocol between the coalition universities and the Federation of Egyptian Industries during the upcoming Ain Shams University conference.

The coalition also adopted an initiative aimed at developing society and supporting the private sector and the national economy.
