Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University, received Mr. Nito Tadatomo, the Japanese artist, in light of his visit to the faculty and his presentation of a lecture to the students of the Japanese Language Department about Japanese culture and art, specifically about the craft of gilding and its use in traditional artistic paintings in Japan, in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Abdel Rahman Ashiba, lecturer in the Japanese Language Department.

During the meeting, Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, said that the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University is the main gateway created by the eminent scholar Rifa’a Al-Tahtawi, through which the world’s cultures pass to the Egyptian people in various fields, especially art and culture of the peoples, as popular arts express the essence of the civilizational background of the peoples and their origins. Which they inherited from their ancestors, and the college is also the window of Egyptian civilization and culture to the world.

   
   

She continued her speech by stressing that getting to know foreign cultures closely contributes to raising the level of students of the languages of those peoples and getting to know them in a way that contributes to raising the level of the translator and refining his experience in transmitting translations professionally, expressing her aspiration to repeat this visit to provide lectures and participate in the cultural events held by the department in the future.

She stressed that organizing the department’s cultural events in cooperation with Japanese language speakers at various official, cultural and artistic levels contributes to effectively enhancing the capabilities of college students, praising the efforts of the Japanese Embassy in Cairo in joint cooperation with the aim of maximizing the benefit from the experiences of both sides in preparing a distinguished graduate capable of entering the labor market. In a distinguished manner, it presented the college’s shield to the Japanese artist for his contributions to enriching the culture of college students with Japanese arts.
