Sponsored by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, witnessed, yesterday evening, Saturday, the opening ceremony of the Egyptian Universities and Higher Institutes Youth Week in its thirteenth edition at Helwan University, which will be held from September 8 to September 14, under the slogan “The New Republic is a dream of a homeland.”

The events were attended by Dr. El Sayed Qandil, President of Helwan University, a representative of the Minister, President of the Administrative Control Authority, and Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, President of the Association of Arab Universities, and a group of university presidents, ministry leaders, vice presidents, representatives of participating universities, and students from various universities and institutes.

         
   
         

The participation of Ain Shams University comes under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Abdel Aleem, Student Activities Advisor to the Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Hatem Rabie, leader of the Students for Egypt family and head of the Ain Shams University mission Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Tariq Ahmed, Acting Director General of the General Administration of Youth Welfare.

The ceremony's activities began with a parade queue of the participating universities, raising the Egyptian flag and playing the national anthem. The torch and flag of the Universities and Institutes Youth Week arrived, and administrators, players and referees lined up in a parade queue in the covered hall at Helwan University. A documentary film about the Universities Youth Week was also shown, and then the opening ceremony began.

In his speech, the Minister of Higher Education stressed that the University Youth Week is an opportunity for Egyptian youth from Egyptian universities and institutes to practice many student activities, encourage students to practice them, build minds, and support creativity and discussion among the sons and youth of Egypt, who during this week display their abilities, express their ambitions, hopes, and experiences, and practice It includes their best hobbies, to show us through this week creative athletes, artists, intellectuals, and scientists from Egypt’s youth who have a clear vision for building the nation.

         
   
         

Dr. Ayman Ashour, confirmed that the University Youth Week enjoys the support and encouragement of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, who attaches great importance to developing the skills of Egyptian youth, stressing his permanent directives to provide an opportunity to communicate with young people and provide them with all means of support in order for Egypt to rise with the help of its loyal sons.

The Minister of Higher Education extended his invitation to the youth of Egypt. To exploit this trust and exploit these activities that highlight their talents in all fields and activities that are organized during this important event to which the Ministry of Higher Education pays great attention, especially as it relates to the youth who represent Egypt’s true strength to complete the comprehensive renaissance that is being implemented in various parts of the Republic.

During his speech, the Minister of Youth and Sports said: “I am proud to share this important event with you. You are our hope and our strength. You are the young generation that possesses enthusiasm, creativity, and the desire to change the world for the better. I would like to assure you that the Egyptian government pays great attention to developing youth and providing opportunities and platforms to develop your abilities.” And your talents, and enabling you to achieve your ambitions and goals, and fully aware of the importance of the role of youth in developing society and achieving progress and development,” explaining that University Youth Week is a wonderful occasion to exchange ideas and experiences and expand the network of social relationships among students, and an opportunity for you to learn and develop in different fields, whether sports. Or cultural or social, expressing his confidence that young people will make perfect use of this opportunity and achieve wonderful achievements.

     
 
     

Dr. Ashraf Sobhi urged the youth to continue working hard and achieving success in their academic and professional lives, stressing the importance of raising the level of Egyptian universities and restoring their status among international universities, stressing also the importance of raising the level of university students; So that they can serve their country and take it to horizons that meet the aspirations and hopes of the Egyptian people, noting the importance of continuing to improve academic programs and increasing communication between faculty and students, in order to graduate new generations armed with knowledge and work in the face of contemporary challenges.

Dr. Sobhi urged the youth for innovation, dedication to work, and striving to achieve leadership and excellence, expressing his confidence in their ability to achieve change and positive impact in society, stressing the importance of youth and supporting them in achieving their ambitions and enhancing their role in society.

For his part, Dr. El Sayed Kandil said that the University Youth Week enjoys the sponsorship and interest of the Egyptian state, as it is a national occasion in which distinguished Egyptian youth meet with Egyptian universities and higher institutes to compete honorably in various types of sports, scientific, social, artistic, cultural and scouts' activities, in addition to a group of parallel and diverse activities for the youth of Egyptian universities, This gives young people many experiences and skills, and also brings together young researchers, innovators, and young community initiatives to meet together. To invest their efforts in dialogue and effective student activity, and to invest their energies, promising ambitions, and constructive ideas to develop their capabilities in a positive way, noting that the university receives the activities of the University Youth Week, to complete a continuous process since the opening of the first week in 1954 to support young people and their ambitions in accordance with the Egypt Strategy 2030 and the Higher Education Strategy to achieve the goals of sustainable development.

The President of Helwan University pointed out that this week brings together for the first time a large number of Egyptian governmental, private, private and technological universities, and also witnesses for the first time the distinguished participation of students with special needs in many different sports and hobbies. The ceremony also witnessed a distinguished appearance of the students’ talents at the opening ceremony of During the performances of students from the faculties of physical education for boys, girls, and music, and artistic participation from the faculties of applied and fine arts and art education, the ceremony also includes an exhibition of innovations, scientific competitions, and other events that have a major role in highlighting the talents of students in all activities and hobbies.

It is worth noting that the University Youth Week witnesses the participation of 45 universities (governmental, private, and technological), in addition to higher institutes. The events witness the organization of many student activities, including scouts' activities, sports, cultural, artistic, and social activities. Several workshops, introductory and educational seminars, and scientific competitions are also held.
