The Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun reviews the history of the faculty in the presence of the delegation of the Japan Foundation in Cairo

Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University, received the delegation of the Japan Foundation in Cairo, headed by Mrs. Ayumi Hashimoto, Director of the Japan Foundation Cairo Office, accompanied by Mr. Kento Onodera, Deputy Director of the Japan Foundation Cairo Office, Mr. Yusuke Yamaoka, the new Japanese expert and specialist in teaching Japanese, and in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Oshiba, teacher in the Japanese language department.

During the meeting, Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, discusses the history of the Faculty of Al-Alsun and its establishment during the era of Muhammad Ali Al-Kabeer, the founder of the modern Egyptian state, and his extensive adoption of mastery of international languages as a cornerstone for the development of the Egyptian state and the establishment of the foundations of its regional influence and the strengthening of its global presence in various fields.

And she continued her speech, pointing out that between the establishment of the Al-Alsun School in 1881 until the programmatic accreditation of the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University in 2023, there is a great history witnessed by educational institutions worldwide, stressing that the Faculty of Al-Alsun is still the gateway to cultures between the East and West of the globe, the faculty spares no effort in keeping abreast of global developments and developing specialized programs aimed at providing distinguished graduates who are able to compete in the labor market race in various international forums.

The meeting came on the occasion of the arrival of Mr. Yosuke Yamaoka, the new Japanese expert, to Egypt and his assumption of work at the Faculty for two years as a Japanese expert delegated from the Japan Foundation Cairo office to work as a teacher of Japanese language at the Faculty.

The conversation between the two sides also touched on discussing areas of cooperation between the Faculty, represented by the Japanese language department, and the Japan Foundation, the Cairo office, with regard to dispatching experts in the fields of Japanese language and Japanese literature to the Faculty, and to discuss the arrangements for conducting the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) next December at the Faculty for the third time in a row, and other topics related to supporting Japanese language education and promoting international deployment of faculty staff and the teaching assistants.
