The President of the University discusses ways of joint cooperation with the Executive Director of the Fulbright Commission office in Cairo

Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, met a delegation of representatives of the Fulbright Commission, in the presence of Prof. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and the delegation included Dr. Maggie Nassif, Executive Director of the Fulbright Commission office in Cairo, Prof. Asser Hani, Assistant Director of Programs at the Fulbright Commission.

The meeting was witnessed by Mrs. Eman Sami, representative of the Ministry of Higher Education, Prof. Shahera Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector, Prof. Muhammad Ragaa Al-Satohi, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Prof. Diaa Khalil, former dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and a group of vice deans and faculty members in the faculties.

The meeting aims to discuss ways of cooperation between the university and the authority, and to introduce the programs offered by the authority to faculty members and postgraduate students.

During the meeting, Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, discussed with representatives of the Fulbright Commission, ways of cooperation of the university faculties with the Commission, with the aim of developing scientific research and the constant endeavor to keep pace with global scientific developments in various fields.

For her part, Dr. Maggie Nassif, thanked the administration of Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, for the joint cooperation between the university and the authority, praising the efforts made by the university for mutual coordination.

She also gave an introductory speech about the Fulbright Commission to the audience, which includes scholarships for Egyptian professors and professionals to study, noting that the Commission provides fully funded scholarships in all fields to obtain a master's degree, in addition to granting post-doctoral research.

Mr. Asser Hani, Assistant Director of Programs at the Authority, presented an extensive definition of the programs offered by the Fulbright Authority to Egyptian students and the fields they cover, grants for Islamic studies, arts and management of cultural, artistic and heritage institutions, grants for English language teachers, vocational training and preparation of leaders through the “Hubert Humphrey” fellowship, and the Authority also hosts professors Americans to teach and train Egyptian cadres and participate in conducting research in Egyptian universities and research centers.

This was followed by a dialogue with those present to answer all their inquiries about grant conditions and application dates.
