The Center for Middle East Research and Future Studies holds the seventh seminar of the educational courses "The ABCs of Politics and Law" in the Faculty of Medicine

Today, the Center for Middle East Research and Future Studies held the seventh seminar of educational courses, "The ABCs of Politics and Law," hosted by the Faculty of Medicine under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Affairs and Environmental Development and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Centre, Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hospitals, in the presence of Prof. Hala Sweed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Reem Al Kabariti, Director of Alumni Associations at Ain Shams University, and Dr. Hatem Al-Abd, Director of the Center and faculty staff at the Faculty of Law at Ain Shams University, and Major General. Prof. Mohsen Mustafa Al-Fahham, Professor of Administrative Law and a member of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs, and a group of Messrs. members of the faculty staff and administrators of the Faculty of Medicine.

         
   
         

Prof. Hala Sweed started the lecture, by welcoming the attendees and stressing the importance of spreading political and legal awareness among the various segments of society, especially the youth. Her Excellency praised the center's initiative to spread this educational campaign in the various faculties of the university.

After that, Dr. Hatem Al-Abd gave a speech where he clarified some general political and legal concepts, with a focus on the most important legal aspects that affect in particular the practice of the medical profession and concerned with protecting the rights of patients and doctors alike, and the rights enjoyed by doctors and the responsibilities they bear in the light of Egyptian law, then Prof. Mohsen Al-Fahham stressed the need to spread awareness among young people and protect them from polarization attempts targeting the state in general and university youth in particular, whether from extremist groups or through calls for atheism and deviance from eastern traditions and constants, which were popular and widespread in private universities, which in turn led to spread of violence and various forms of moral decay, as well as the exploitation of social media to spread rumors and stir up strife and unrest among the various segments of the people, which in turn necessitates intervention to protect young people from such phenomena alien to Egyptian and Arab society, which is already being done tthrough the concerted efforts of the state with the concerned societal bodies, led by Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and the Egyptian Church.

At the end of the meeting, the lecturers responded to all inquiries and proposals concerned with improving the conditions of doctors in Egypt and enacting more legislation that preserves the dignity of doctors.

After the end of the lecture, Dr. Hatem Al-Abd presented certificates of honor to Prof. Mohsen Al-Fahham, for his fruitful participation in the lecture, and to Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, for his kindness to host the lecture at the faculty campus and to receive it on his behalf Prof. Hala Sweed, and presented to Prof. Hala Sweed, for her kind presence and participation.
