The Italian ambassador visits Ain Shams University

Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, at the headquarters of the Saffron Palace at the university, received a high-ranking Italian delegation headed by Mr. Michele Quaroni, the Italian Ambassador to Cairo and the Director of the Education Office at the Italian Embassy, Mrs. Annalisa Wagner, and the Commercial Counselor at the Italian Embassy, Mrs. Mariella Larocha, in the presence of Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University, Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector, Prof. Sherweit Al-Ahmadi, Director of the Expatriates Department, Prof. Marwa Abdel Moneim Tantawy, Head of the Italian Language Department.

The meeting dealt with the interest in strengthening international cooperation between Ain Shams University and some Italian universities in various scientific disciplines such as medicine, engineering and languages, with a discussion of the desire of the two parties to make an inventory of existing memorandums of understanding to activate and enhance means of communication.

The discussion also touched on the possibility of holding exams to determine the international level of the Italian language in the electronic halls of the Faculty of Al-Alsun.

His Excellency the Ambassador indicated his desire to activate the translation process from Italian into Arabic in various fields to be determined in coordination between the Egyptian and Italian sides.

His Excellency the Ambassador also affirmed the Italian side's support already for the Italian language program at the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University by providing teachers of the Italian language to enhance the students' benefit.

At the end of the meeting, Mahmoud El-Metini presented the university shield to His Excellency the Italian Ambassador, who in turn presented him with a book chronicling Italian architects in Egypt.

The President of the University had previously received His Excellency the Ambassador and his accompanying delegation, receiving Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun and Head of the Italian Language Department, and a delegation of professors from the Italian Language Department, to His Excellency and his accompanying delegation at the Faculty of Al-Alsun; Where he visited the classrooms and electronic examination halls of the faculty.

The visit of the Italian ambassador to the faculty ended with his attendance at part of the scientific conference of the Italian Language Department, during which he delivered a speech to the students of the department, during which he expressed his happiness by speaking to Egyptian students in the Italian language, in addition to presenting certificates of appreciation to the students who excelled academically.
