"Atmen"... A symposium at the Faculty of Law in cooperation with the Women's Support Unit at the university and the Youth Committee of the National Council for Women

The Faculty of Law at Ain Shams University organized a symposium entitled “Atmen” in cooperation with the Women’s Support and Anti-Violence Unit at the university, and the Youth Committee of the National Council for Women, honoring Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and in the presence of Prof. Graduate studies and research, a number of faculty staff, a large group of students.

         
   
         

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Safi, Dean of the Faculty, opened the symposium, welcoming the Deputy, and appreciating his role in developing the Education and Student Affairs Sector at the University, and supporting the Faculty and its development and reform projects.

He also welcomed Prof. Dr. Hind Al-Helali, Director of the Women's Support and Anti-Violence Unit at the university, and the Faculty guests, speakers at the symposium from the House of Representatives and the National Council for Women, and thanked Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Shafei, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Yousra Shaaban for the efforts made in preparing for the symposium.

He also stressed that the Faculty is working to establish the principle of equal opportunities for students, graduates and faculty members, and that the percentage of faculty members and their assistants from the female component of the Faculty is currently about 40%, and he mentioned that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which Egypt was the first to approve, before it, the United Nations Charter, in which Egypt participated in drafting, affirmed the principle of gender equality.

Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saud praised the efforts of the Faculty of Law in the recent period, and the remarkable role played by the Women's Support and Anti-Violence Unit, and thanked the family and iclub students for their presence today.

         
   
         

He stressed the importance of practical training to change the culture of society that supports women and opposes violence.

Prof. Dr. Hind Al-Hilali also demonstrated the supportive role of the unit for the students and urged them to attend and participate. Representative of the House of Representatives, Mrs. Hiyam Al-Tabbakh, stressed to the students the necessity of linking knowledge with implementation and practical practice, with a commitment to good behaviors and morals that help them acquire practical skills and work to develop them.

Ms. Dina Hussein, rapporteur of the Youth Committee of the National Council for Women, emphasized the council's role in supporting women.

This seminar was followed by a practical workshop on "How to defend when exposed to physical and sexual abuse in public and private places".
