Integrated Services" was issued, where the article stated that the Ain Shams University Hospitals area had been converted to an international medical city in The heart of Cairo to serve the people of the capital and the surrounding cities, while providing the necessary financial allocations for this vital project, which will provide integrated services to thousands of patients, as well as developing the main axes of the Abbasid area and square to upgrade services, and establishing specialized centers at the highest level, which will greatly return to the medical service provided to patients. In addition to creating a green garden area on the hospital campuses that will be a green outlet for them and the doctors.

The idea of ​​the medical city, which was previously presented by Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, to the President of the Republic, includes the demarcation of the urban space, the inclusion of “Wali and Arab Al-Mohammadi” gardens to the project campus after their development, the construction of a wall to surround hospitals and gardens, and the establishment of modern entrance gates.

The development of Demerdash Palace, the mausoleum and the mosque attached to it, the construction of a tourist track and a sports track, as well as the development of the main axes of Abbasiya area and square, have already begun, to eliminate traffic densities and facilitate movement for university students as well as citizens, which will extend over an area of ​​57 acres, while raising the efficiency of Existing medical facilities and the establishment of new hospitals for emergency, pediatric surgery and oncology, as well as the development of outpatient and specialized clinics, and the provision of combined waiting areas.

The university also participated with the Ministry of Antiquities in the restoration of the Demerdash Pasha house and mosque, the founder of Demerdash Hospital.

Demerdash hospitals include 10 hospitals and medical centers in all general and subspecialties, a medical research center and 3,430 beds.

As for the Martyr Ahmed Shawky Hospital for Elderly Medicine, it has a capacity of 101 beds, of which 35 are intensive care beds, while the capacity of the new children's hospital is 200 beds, including 42 intensive care beds for children and premature babies. The emergency hospital with a capacity of 260 beds, 8 operating rooms, and 60 intensive care beds, and equipped with the latest medical equipment, is under construction.

At the level of the Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Diseases and Surgery Hospital, intensive care, operating rooms, internal and educational departments are being completed, while the development of the combined operations unit at the Surgery Hospital has been completed.

At the level of internal medicine Hospital, the intensive care of the chest, heart care and the chest endoscopy unit were developed, and a model unit for dialysis with a capacity of 57 chairs was established with the latest scientific methods, and a central unit for water purification, as well as the development of some internal departments.

The development and restoration of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, and the establishment of the Ain Shams University Virtual Hospital, has been completed, to provide integrated training programs for doctors and specialized treatment services for patients from different countries, so that the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University will be a distinguished regional center.

The general site has also been developed, the external wall surrounding the medical city and the College of Medicine, and the multi-storey garage have been established, in addition to the construction of a hazardous medical waste disposal complex. Oncology Hospital.

It is expected that the cost of developing the medical city will not be less than 2.5 billion pounds, especially that Ain Shams university hospitals serve more than 3 million patients annually in all specialties.

The construction development work and the improvement of human expertise aims to provide a distinguished service for patients who frequent hospitals with high quality and a distinguished and contemporary medical level, health care in line with quality and infection control guidelines, providing them with the latest medical devices and performing the necessary maintenance for them, with constant attention to raising the human competencies of doctors, nursing and administrators.
