The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and the Vice Deans witness the opening ceremony of the Student Union activities at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University

The Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University organized a ceremony to inaugurate the activities of the Faculty's Students' Union for the academic year 2021/2022, in the auditorium of Prof. Dr. El Mahalawy building, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Omar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Shahera Samir, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Osama Mansour, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Heba Allah Saeed, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, a group of faculty members and students, and the Director of the General Administration of Youth Welfare at the faculty.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Omar, Dean of the Faculty, congratulated the new union, expressing his happiness with this meeting.

         
   
         

He called on the members of the union to adopt a moderate culture that contains all opinions and differences, especially in light of the presence of students from nearly 35 countries at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, so the new union should contain the diversity of cultures, accept differences, and appealed to Faculty students to maintain the renewals witnessed by the Faculty, stressing On the Faculty’s full support for student activity, which is one of the elements that constitute the integrated personality of young people and informing them of everything new in all fields so that they can face all challenges and advance the nation.

Prof. Dr. Hebatullah Saeed, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, asked the Faculty of Medicine Students’ Union, should be up to the responsibility and become a role model for their colleagues, stressing that they should integrate international students into the union’s activities to benefit and achieve cultural exchange.

Prof. Shahira Samir, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, congratulated the new union, expressing her happiness at meeting the new youth who carry advanced and different ideas.

She added that their presence in the Student Union imposes on them responsibilities towards their colleagues, calling on them to provide services and fruitful plans for distinguished student activities, in addition to conveying their voice to the leaders as the link.

She also stressed the importance of student activities in building an integrated personality, especially for a doctor, whose nature of work includes communicating with others, as student activities develop this aspect positively.

She called on the new union to focus student activities on shaping students' behaviors and thinking, and for union members to be role models for their colleagues in all their actions and actions, whether in the scientific aspect or in terms of student activity.

Prof. Osama Mansour, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, stressed the importance of student activity because of its role in enhancing the student's personality, as it develops his abilities in many aspects of life.

He added that the accumulation of experiences and the diversity of activities, whether cultural, artistic, sports and other activities, broaden the doctor's perceptions.

During the celebration, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Omar and the Faculty representatives honored the advisors of the Student Union in appreciation and gratitude for their efforts, and the students were keen to take memorial photos with the faculty leaders.

The celebration included lyrical and show segments and theatrical sketches by the students of the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University.
