Twenty-one foreign missions for faculty staff at Ain Shams University

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, has approved the result of the unified announcement of the missions’ plan for the fourth year 2020/2021 of the eighth five-year plan 2017/2022, which includes dispatching (external missions - joint supervision - master’s - post-doctoral scientific missions), in partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)

In addition, 21 applicants from Ain Shams University were accepted in various types of delegation, distributed as follows: 9 external missions, 2 joint supervisions, and 10 post-doctoral scientific missions.

The participation percentage of female researchers was approximately 47% of the total students who accepted this announcement from Ain Shams University.

The accepted numbers indicated that the number of scholarships granted to students from Ain Shams University to 4 from the Faculty of Medicine, in addition to 4 from the Faculty of Science, 4 from the Faculty of Al-Alsun, 3 from the Faculty of Pharmacy, 2 from the Faculty of Engineering, 2 from the Faculty of Commerce, and two from the Faculty of Commerce. One for the Faculty of Agriculture and the other for the Faculty of Arts.

It is worth mentioning that Ain Shams University, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, attaches great importance to external missions to develop the scientific skills and capabilities of faculty members in various scientific fields in the best universities in the world.

The university has also established an office for the sponsorship of scholarships to take full care of the faculty members in the various stages of scholarships and to provide support while applying for the announcements of the various scholarships.

The scholarships that have been approved for faculty members at Ain Shams University include the most prestigious universities and research institutes in 9 countries, on top of them, the United States of America (5 scholarships), the United Kingdom (5 scholarships), Russia (4 scholarships), Australia (2 scholarships), and a scholarship One each for Japan, Belgium, Italy, New Zealand, and the United Arab Emirates.
