The President of Ain Shams University receives the President of Al-Azhar University at Al-Zafaran Palace

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, received at Al-Zafaran Palace, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Al-Mahrasawi, President of Al-Azhar University, Vice-President of the Federation of African Universities for North African Countries, and Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Siddik, Vice President of Al-Azhar University for Graduate Studies and Research and General Supervisor of the University Hospitals Sector at Al-Azhar University Dr. Amani Al-Sharif, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Al-Azhar University, and Regional Director of the Association of African Universities.

The meeting comes to offer congratulations on the occasion of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini joining the Board of Directors of the Association of African Universities of North African Countries, as well as agreeing to develop a cooperation plan for North African and Mauritanian universities.

         
   
         

The meeting witnessed by Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector at Ain Shams University.

During the meeting, Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini praised the efforts of the Al-Azhar Foundation, collectively and at the university headed by the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, within the countries of the African continent, stressing that Al-Azhar is the soft forces of Egypt locally, regionally and internationally.

On his part, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Mahrasawi said that the next stage will witness great progress in the relations between the universities of the continent and each other; Proceeding from the fact that universities are the real locomotive for comprehensive development in all societies.

He announced that there will be an expanded meeting at the headquarters of the Association of African Universities, comprising the ambassadors of the member states of the Association of African Universities of the Six North African Countries, to develop a future action plan for the advancement and advancement of the Union, followed by a meeting in the presence of the cultural attaches of the African Universities Association of North African States. With the aim of agreeing on a future work agenda that will have a positive impact on the universities of the continent.

         
   
         

At the end of the meeting, shields were exchanged between Al-Azhar University and Ain Shams University, in addition to some souvenirs, in the presence of the Vice Presidents of Ain Shams University.

It was also agreed to hold a series of meetings to activate the union's activity in Egypt and to publish special offices for African universities in other countries.
