The conclusion of the activities of the psychological counseling and sociology course for imams of the Ministry of Endowments at Faculty of Arts

The activities of the "Psychological Counseling and Sociology" course that was held by the Ministry of Endowments in cooperation with Ain Shams University at the faculty headquarters from Tuesday 23 March 2021 until Thursday 25 March 2021 were concluded over a period of 3 days by 12 hours.

The course was held within the framework of the ministry’s plan for good preparation and continuous training of imams in the ministry in all fields, in implementation of the protocol signed between the ministry and the university, and in belief in the importance of training in upgrading the level of imams and preachers, as it aimed to train 50 imams of the ministry in Greater Cairo.

Prof. Dr. Hesham Temraz, Vice President for Community Service Affairs, delegated Mr. Suhail Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, on behalf of his Excellency, for the participation with Prof. Dr. Rasha Al-Didi, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development and the supervisor of the Psychology Department of the Faculty in handing the certificates of appreciation to the imams for their wonderful response and full commitment during the course activities to the rules followed for successfully passing them, in the presence of Dr. Soheir Safwat, Assistant Professor of Sociology at the Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University, and Professor Iman Mahmoud, secretary of the Faculty of Arts.

         
   
         

Prof. Dr. Rasha Al-Didi expressed her happiness with the success of the training course thanks to the seriousness and commitment of the attendees of the imams, describing them that they play a role similar to the role of messengers to hold them responsible for spreading good morals, spreading knowledge and spreading peace among people. Therefore, this session conveyed the distinguished experiences of the masters specialized in the principles of the scientific psychological counseling and sociology, as it included important topics for imams, including: methods of dealing with rumors, skills for developing loyalty and belonging among community members, emotional intelligence skills, developing social communication skills, psychological methods in changing attitudes, skills for successful dialogue.

The training was carried out by a team of specialists from the departments of Psychology and Sociology at the faculty and university, headed by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Mortada, Dean of the Faculty and Supervisor of the Department of Sociology, Prof. Ahmed Khairy, Professor of Clinical Psychology, Department of Psychology, Dr. Suhair Safwat, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, Faculty of Education, Dr. Marwa Mandi, teacher, Department of Psychology.

At the end of the last day of the course, the imams expressed their great happiness at attending the course at the Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University and praised the level of organization and training, and they also praised the efficiency and excellence of the training team and the program and content of the course, then the imams sang a number of prophetic praises in the midst of the interaction of the attendees.

The course team was also honored from the faculty’s administrative apparatus, and everyone was keen to take memorial photos.

The course was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar Gumaa, Minister of Endowments, and Prof. Mahmoud El-Metiny, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Hesham Temraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, supervised by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Mortada, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Mahmoud Al-Fakharani, Assistant Minister of Endowments, and Prof. Dr. Rasha Al-Didi, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Supervisor of the Psychology Department.
