Ain Shams University signs a cooperation protocol with Cairo Regional Center for International Arbitration

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Shawky El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between Ain Shams University, represented by Prof. Dr. Nagy Abdel-Moumen, Dean of the University's Faculty of Law and the Cairo Regional Center for International Commercial Arbitration, and represented by Dr. Ismail Selim, Director of the Center, with the aim of cooperation between the two sides. This will open horizons for students of the Faculty of Law to work on actual training grants and offers in the field of international commercial arbitration, in line with the university's strategic approach to link educational programs with the actual needs of the labor market, in all fields.

Within the framework of the agreement, a specialized professional diploma will be established in cooperation with Ain Shams University, whose curricula will combine theoretical strength and practical application.

         
   
         

Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Ehab Yuser Anwar, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Safi, Vice President of the Faculty of Law for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Counselor Mohamed Shatat, Professor at the Faculty of Law The advisor to the office of Prof. The President of the University and Prof. Dr. Khaled Hamdy, Professor at the Faculty of Law, the former Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Sherif Al-Atafi and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Dahom witnessed the signing of the protocol.

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, confirmed that the university is a pioneer in the field of legal studies, and seeks to develop the educational process, so that it will always remain a leading academic institution at the regional and international level, able to represent Egypt in international forums, and contribute to bridging the gaps between academic study and requirements, the labor market, and he added that the university is always working to achieve and provide the best quality of education for its students through its accredited Faculty.

For his part, Prof. Dr. Nagi Abdel-Momen, Dean of the Faculty of Law, explained that the Faculty of Law and the Arbitration Center in the Faculty have an effective role in contributing to spreading awareness of arbitration and its importance in settling commercial disputes and graduating generations of well-informed and competent legal experts and inspiration in the theoretical and scientific aspects of arbitration.

         
   
         

He expressed his happiness in cooperating with the Cairo Center for Arbitration as the leading international organization in the field of institutional arbitration at the global level, and due to his extensive experience in training and teaching through the center's participation in a training professional diploma awarded by the Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University.

Regarding the role of the Cairo Regional Center, Dr. Ismail Selim emphasized that the center aims to spread the culture of arbitration, as effective and impartial justice is one of the pillars of societies, pointing out that the center is interested in training and education through training courses and scientific conferences and the conclusion of many cooperation agreements internally and externally, pointing out that the center will seek to create job opportunities for graduates of the Faculty of Law of Ain Shams University.

It is noteworthy that the Cairo Regional Center for International Commercial Arbitration is an independent, non-profit international organization. It was established in 1979 by a decision of the Asian and African Legal Consultative Organization in 1978 to establish regional centers for international commercial arbitration in Asia and Africa, one of them in Kuala Lumpur and the other in Egypt so that the administration is not restricted International arbitration on a few arbitration centers in Europe and America.

At the conclusion of the protocol signing activities, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, presented the book "Zafaran Palace ... The Fragrance of History and Looking Up the Future", which tells the history of the palace, to Dr. Ismail Selim, Director of the Cairo Regional Center for Arbitration.
