The Spanish cultural advisor in an open meeting with students of Faculty of Al-Alsun

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, received Mr. Candido Chris, the Spanish Cultural Counselor, received at his Excellency's office to discuss aspects of cooperation between Ain Shams University and Spanish universities, in the presence of Prof. Abdel-Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of Faculty of Al-Alsun, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Al-Soghair, Head of the Spanish Language Department and Prof. Dr. Youmna Azmy, Assistant Professor of Spanish Language and Head of the College's Cultural Relations Committee.

The discussions between the two sides dealt with ways to develop educational relations and increase educational programs, as well as increasing the number of visiting professors from the Spanish side, in order to benefit the students of Al-Alsun College.

Prof. Dr. El-Metini, President of the University, reviewed the credit hour programs in the various faculties of the university, as well as the Arabic language program for non-native speakers and the mechanisms for inviting Spanish students to study Arabic at Ain Shams University.

At the end of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, honoring the Cultural Counselor and honoring the University and College Shield, in appreciation of his efforts in developing the educational process between the university and Spanish universities.

After the reception ceremony, Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University, the activities of an open meeting with the college’s students, to the Spanish cultural advisor / Candido Chris in the midst of a group of faculty members, the assisting body, and department students. Prof. Mohamed Al-Sagheer, Head of the Department, a welcome speech to the guest.

During her speech, Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, said that the Spanish Language Department in the College is one of the oldest departments in the Middle East and the world, as it was inaugurated about 63 years ago, and she emphasized the keenness of the Ain Shams University administration to extend international cooperation ties and conclude cooperation protocols with the Spanish side.

Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, stressed the importance of training and qualifying the assistant body in the department during the coming period in cooperation with the Spanish Embassy in Cairo, noting that the college now has an electronic platform with about 16 thousand participants between faculty members, an assisting body and students, through which it is possible to prepare and train the supporting body, in conjunction with Spanish universities, in light of the repercussions of the emerging corona virus (Covid19).

Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, asserting that the faculty seeks during the coming period to increase the number of international programs, through international partnerships, to raise the university's ranking worldwide, as well as to provide excellent educational services to Egyptian and foreign students.

For his part, the Spanish cultural advisor in Cairo / Candido Chris stressed the importance of cooperation with Egyptian universities during the coming period, and explained that Ain Shams University has a distinguished international reputation in the research community, pointing out that he knows that Ain Shams University includes the largest number of students of the Spanish language at the university level Egyptian universities, and stressed the effective cooperation between Spanish universities and Ain Shams University in the coming period.

He referred to the activities of the Spanish Film Festival, in which Faculty of Al-Alsun is keen to participate in its activities periodically, and to provide rewards for the best summary of Spanish films from students of the Spanish language departments in Egyptian universities.

During the cultural advisor's meeting with the students, he presented a distinguished presentation accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation, during which he introduced the most famous Spanish cities and their most important characteristics and history, as well as the famous Spanish food and celebrations.
