During the meeting, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, emphasized that university hospitals represent a fundamental pillar of Egypt's healthcare system, not only as institutions providing specialized medical services but also through their pivotal role in medical education, training, scientific research, and community service. He highlighted the public's confidence in these hospitals and their highly qualified medical, administrative, technical, and security personnel, who work together to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality healthcare services in accordance with the highest quality standards.

He highlighted the scale of medical services provided by the university hospitals, explaining that outpatient clinics and emergency departments receive between 10,000 and 12,000 patients daily, while the total number of patients receiving medical services exceeds two million annually. These figures reflect the substantial responsibilities undertaken by these medical institutions and their vital role in meeting citizens' healthcare needs.

He added that hospital operations are proceeding alongside comprehensive development plans aimed at improving infrastructure efficiency, modernizing medical equipment, and enhancing the quality of services. He noted that several facilities have undergone renovation and modernization, strengthening their operational capabilities, including the development and equipping of the blood bank in accordance with the latest standards and technologies to better meet the needs of critical cases, emergencies, and accident victims.

The University President also reviewed the importance of the Emergency Hospital as a specialized, integrated medical facility equipped to handle various emergency cases. He discussed major medical projects currently underway, particularly the development of the University Children's Hospital, which aims to achieve a qualitative improvement in pediatric healthcare services, with completion targeted for the first half of 2027.

He stressed that development efforts are not limited to constructing new hospitals or modernizing major facilities but also extend to existing units and departments, including pediatric emergency services, pediatric oncology, bone marrow transplantation, and other highly specialized medical fields essential to providing comprehensive healthcare for children. He affirmed that the University continues to develop these services while ensuring the uninterrupted provision of daily medical care.

He invited Members of Parliament from the Nation's Future Party to conduct field visits to the university hospitals to gain firsthand insight into the scale of services, available resources, and existing challenges, and to convey an accurate picture to state institutions, thereby creating greater opportunities for supporting the healthcare system.

The University President concluded by affirming that Ain Shams University Hospitals will continue fulfilling their medical, educational, and community missions, building on their longstanding history, accumulated expertise, and distinguished personnel, while continuing to invest in development and modernization to improve healthcare quality and strengthen their capacity to serve more citizens.

In his remarks, MP Dr. Mohamed Soliman, Secretary of the Nation's Future Party in Cairo and Chairman of the Planning and Budget Committee of the House of Representatives, emphasized that the party, as one of Egypt's largest political parties, bears significant social responsibility. He noted that approximately three years ago, the party adopted an approach aimed at strengthening community initiatives in the education and healthcare sectors, recognizing the importance of reaching citizens and identifying their actual needs.

He explained that community engagement is an essential means of maintaining direct communication with citizens through field presence across various areas and governorates, identifying the needs of Egyptian communities, and categorizing them by sector, particularly education and healthcare, to ensure that initiatives are directed more effectively.

He reviewed the party's efforts to develop several university hospitals, describing them as one of the main pillars of Egypt's healthcare system alongside the Ministry of Health. He added that the party's support also included providing advanced medical equipment.

He affirmed that these efforts reflect the party's commitment to strengthening partnerships with medical and educational institutions and directing community initiatives toward citizens' actual needs, thereby supporting healthcare services and improving their quality.

In his address, Prof. Ali El-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ain Shams University Hospitals, emphasized the importance of medical initiatives and healthcare convoys aimed at reaching citizens across different governorates. He praised the efforts of Members of Parliament from the Nation's Future Party in supporting these initiatives and strengthening their community role.

He explained that providing treatment free of charge to patients means that another entity, whether the state, civil society organizations, or donors, bears the costs of treatment, medications, and medical supplies. He stressed that securing the necessary financial resources remains an ongoing challenge to ensuring the sustainability of medical services throughout the year.

He noted that university hospitals possess advanced medical capabilities and highly qualified personnel, providing services comparable to, and in many cases exceeding, those offered by private hospitals. These include highly complex medical procedures such as robotic surgery, valve replacement, cerebral and neurovascular catheterization, open-heart surgery, and other costly interventions.

He praised the important role played by civil society organizations, donors, and faculty members in supporting university hospitals, helping meet patients' needs and ensuring the continued provision of specialized medical services.

He emphasized that the mission of university hospitals extends beyond treatment to include education, training, and scientific research, alongside their pivotal role in providing healthcare to a large proportion of citizens, supported by specialized medical personnel and advanced treatment capabilities.

He also reviewed the significant improvements achieved in hospital accommodation and patient services, highlighting the transition from shared hospital wards to single, double, and triple rooms equipped with private bathrooms, reflecting the University's commitment to improving the patient experience and enhancing healthcare quality.

He concluded by stressing the importance of maintaining cooperation and communication with Members of Parliament from the Nation's Future Party and supporting efforts to develop university hospitals, thereby strengthening their ability to fulfill their medical, educational, and community missions and provide high-quality healthcare services to citizens.

In the same context, MP Dr. Abdel Hady El-Kasaby, Vice President of the Nation's Future Party and Chairman of the Human Rights and Social Solidarity Committee of the Senate, affirmed that the party is committed to intensifying its community and medical initiatives on a regular monthly basis, rather than limiting them to election periods. He explained that this commitment stems from the party's belief that its true role is to be an integral part of society, remain close to citizens, and respond effectively to their needs.

He explained that the party's initiatives extend to all governorates, districts, and villages across Egypt, maintaining the same level of service and attention. He noted that the geographical reach and continuity of these services reflect the party's commitment to fulfilling its community role and strengthening direct communication with citizens.

He praised the cooperation with Ain Shams University Hospitals and commended their efforts in providing medical care to patients. He emphasized the importance of supporting the needs of emergency departments, particularly medical supplies that require continuous availability due to the unpredictable nature of emergency cases.

He added that healthcare systems face ongoing challenges worldwide, requiring coordinated efforts among state institutions, political parties, and civil society organizations. He noted that the Nation's Future Party's initiatives aim to provide sustainable support rather than temporary interventions, helping strengthen the healthcare system and alleviate the burden on patients.

He concluded by thanking the leadership of Ain Shams University Hospitals for their dedicated efforts in serving patients, affirming the party's continued commitment to supporting initiatives that improve healthcare services and enhance the quality of life of Egyptian citizens.

In his remarks, MP Hossam El-Khouly, Vice President of the Nation's Future Party and Head of the Party's Parliamentary Group in the Senate, expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Ain Shams University and the Nation's Future Party in implementing community initiatives and activities across various governorates. He emphasized the importance of field engagement, direct communication with citizens, and providing tangible services that meet their needs.

He noted that current challenges require major political parties to adopt clear visions and strategies to keep pace with ongoing changes. He also expressed his pride in the longstanding legacy of Ain Shams University and its distinguished academic and community contributions, particularly in scientific research and healthcare.

He emphasized that the humanitarian services provided by university hospitals are invaluable, especially in light of the global challenges facing the healthcare sector. He stressed the need for coordinated efforts among the state, political parties, and various community institutions to support the healthcare system and ensure the continued provision of medical services to patients.

He further stressed that the political, legislative, and oversight responsibilities of political parties complement their social and humanitarian responsibilities, emphasizing the importance of unifying efforts to serve Egyptian citizens and support institutions that provide essential community services.

During the reception, the Cairo Secretariat of the Nation's Future Party donated a substantial quantity of medical and emergency supplies to Ain Shams University Hospitals, including the Children's Hospitals and general hospitals. The donation aimed to support the healthcare system's needs and strengthen its capacity to provide medical care to patients, reflecting the importance of civil society contributions and their role as an effective partner in supporting university hospitals and ensuring the sustainability of their medical and humanitarian services.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of commemorative shields between Ain Shams University and the Nation's Future Party in recognition of their joint cooperation and to reaffirm the importance of strengthening communication and coordination among academic institutions, political parties, and civil society organizations in support of community initiatives and the advancement of the healthcare system.
