The Faculty of Al-Alsun Explores Career Opportunities in Content Creation, Podcasting, and Voice-Over

Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University; Prof. Rami Maher, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Prof. Youmna Safwat, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun; and Prof. Hala Sayed Metwally, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Support Unit of the Postgraduate Studies and Research Sector, in cooperation with the Field Training Committee of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, organized a specialized seminar on content creation, podcasting, and voice-over. The seminar explored career opportunities in these fields, the skills required to pursue them, and ways in which students can leverage their linguistic, vocal, and creative abilities in emerging professional fields.

The seminar was held at the Faculty’s Simultaneous Interpretation Hall under the supervision of Dr. Heidi Khaled, Acting Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Support Unit, and Dr. Esraa Adel, Coordinator of the Faculty’s Field Training Committee. It witnessed broad student participation, reflecting growing interest in careers related to the creative industries and non-traditional career paths.

The seminar was delivered by Mr. Ahmed Tamer Hamed, a voice-over trainer and specialist in creative content and podcast production with more than ten years of experience in media, broadcasting, and the creative industries. He provided students with practical insights into the nature of work in these fields, the career opportunities they offer, and the key skills required to work in today’s digital content and modern media environment.

The speaker addressed the rapid transformations taking place in the media and content creation market, explaining that technological advancements and the widespread use of digital platforms have contributed to the emergence of new career paths that extend beyond traditional media roles and provide broader opportunities for individuals with linguistic, vocal, and creative skills.

In this context, he reviewed the essential skills required to excel in content creation, podcasting, and voice-over, foremost among them linguistic proficiency, communication and presentation skills, and voice performance development, in addition to mastering the technical tools required for content production and the ability to create content suited to the nature of digital platforms and target audiences.

To translate these skills into practical experience, the speaker presented several practical exercises related to voice-over, podcast production, and content creation. He explained techniques for developing vocal performance, the importance of continuous training and practice, how to use technical tools, and ways to utilize digital platforms to produce content and reach audiences.

The practical exercises also highlighted the importance of combining linguistic proficiency, communication and presentation abilities, and technical skills as interconnected elements of work in today’s creative fields. The seminar emphasized that gaining hands-on experience is essential for improving performance and preparing for the labor market.

The seminar highlighted the importance of building students’ professional identities during their university years and leveraging the academic and linguistic skills acquired at the faculty in emerging professional fields. This can broaden the range of opportunities available to Al-Alsun graduates and enable them to explore career paths beyond traditional roles associated with translation and teaching.

In this context, the speaker provided students with a set of practical guidelines and recommendations on developing voice performance, creating content, gaining hands-on experience, and utilizing digital platforms to establish a professional presence that can support employment and collaboration opportunities in media and the creative industries.

The seminar also discussed the range of skills that Faculty of Al-Alsun students can apply across various professional fields, including content creation, voice-over, podcasting, and other areas that rely on language, communication, vocal performance, and the ability to produce content tailored to specific audiences and platforms.

The seminar witnessed broad student participation and active engagement with its various topics. Students raised several questions and contributed to discussions on the nature of work in voice-over, content creation, and podcasting, the skills required to enter these fields, and ways to gain experience and develop the capabilities needed to pursue careers in them.

The strong student participation reflected the growing interest in creative professions and non-traditional career paths, as well as students’ eagerness to explore emerging career opportunities created by digital transformation and benefit from specialized expertise in shaping their future professional paths.

The seminar was organized as part of the integration between the Postgraduate Studies and Research Sector and the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Faculty of Al-Alsun. It also reflects the faculty’s commitment to providing specialized activities that bridge academic study and practical application, introduce students to emerging career paths, and help them understand the requirements of fields related to their specializations and skills.

The seminar also forms part of the faculty’s efforts to enhance students’ capabilities and prepare them for effective integration into the labor market considering its rapidly evolving landscape and future needs. It provides students with opportunities to explore new professional fields in which they can apply their linguistic, academic, and creative skills.
