Vice President for Education and Student Affairs: The University Is a True Space for Self-Discovery and Student Character Development

Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs, affirmed that university represents an important stage in young people’s lives and a genuine space for self-discovery and determining the path each student wishes to pursue. He stressed the importance of participating in student activities alongside focusing on academic study and achievement.

His remarks came during his speech at the celebration marking the start of the 2026/2027 academic year, attended by university leaders, faculty deans, faculty members, teaching assistants, administrative staff, and students.

University Is More Than Just the Next Step After School

The Vice President for Education and Student Affairs delivered a welcoming and motivational message to Ain Shams University students at the start of the new academic year, emphasizing that university is not merely the next step after school, but a broader stage that enables students to discover their abilities and define their identities and future paths.

He explained that the University provides students with multiple opportunities to excel, whether through academic study, sports, artistic talents, projects, or various activities. He encouraged students to make the most of these opportunities and not limit their university experience to attending lectures and returning home.

“Live the University Experience” ... A Message to Students

Prof. Rami Maher Ghali said that his first message to students at the beginning of the new academic year is not to confine their university experience to lecture halls, encouraging them to enjoy the wide range of activities offered by the University.

He urged students to build relationships with their peers across different faculties and participate in trips and sports, scientific, and cultural activities, stressing that all committees and activities provided by the Education and Student Affairs Sector are available to members of the Ain Shams University community.

Education and Student Affairs Sector: Our Offices Are Open to Everyone

The Vice President affirmed that the Education and Student Affairs Sector spares no effort in supporting students, from services provided to students residing in university dormitories and catering services to the various forms of support they may need throughout their university journey.

He stated that the offices of the Education and Student Affairs Sector are open to all students, emphasizing, “We are here for you,” and noting that the Sector works to address students’ various concerns, whether at the faculty or University level.

Ain Shams University... A Legacy and Prestigious Standing

Prof. Rami Maher Ghali encouraged students to take pride in belonging to Ain Shams University, highlighting the University’s history since its establishment in 1950 and its distinguished position in global rankings.

He affirmed that the University administration is working to provide a wide range of services for the benefit of students, stressing that students are at the heart of the educational process and that the University cannot fulfill its mission without them.

Concluding his speech, the Vice President congratulated students on the new academic year and wished them a successful year. He emphasized the importance of enjoying university life and benefiting from the various activities available, while maintaining a strong focus on academic study and achievement.

He encouraged students to study diligently, prepare well for their examinations, and perform to the best of their abilities, so that their university journey becomes a well-rounded experience combining academic success with active participation in university life.
