Today, Sunday, September 20, the Education and Student Affairs Sector at Ain Shams University is organizing a celebration to welcome new and returning students at the University’s main campus, marking the start of the new academic year. The event reflects the Sector’s commitment to creating a welcoming atmosphere that fosters communication among students and supports their integration into university life across its academic, cultural, artistic, and sports activities.

The celebration is held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, with the general supervision and administrative coordination of Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary-General for the Education and Student Affairs Sector.

The event is organized by the Education and Student Affairs Sector in cooperation with the Students for Egypt Family, the University Student Union, and all activity committees of the General Administration of Youth Welfare. It features a diverse program of artistic, sports, and cultural performances, as well as exhibitions and interactive activities designed to introduce new students to the wide range of activities and services offered by the University and encourage them to actively engage in university life.

The celebration includes a variety of welcoming activities combining entertainment, education, and talent discovery. It provides new and returning students with an opportunity to learn more about the University’s various sectors and faculties, as well as the services and programs they offer. Students will also be introduced to the role of the Youth Welfare departments and the wide range of student activities available throughout the academic year.

The celebration features special artistic performances by university choirs and the University’s Folk Arts Team. The International Cooperation Sector is also participating with a dedicated pavilion for international students, while the Alumni Association has a dedicated pavilion for graduates. Tahya Misr Fund is taking part with a special pavilion, alongside the Social Solidarity Sector, which is showcasing its services and activities.

The event also features a fine arts exhibition showcasing students’ artwork, as well as interactive workshops in drawing and sculpture, providing students with opportunities to express their talents and develop their creative abilities.

The program includes sports, electronic, cultural, and recreational competitions, along with artistic and scouting workshops and exhibitions introducing students to the various services available to them.

Special attention is given to students with disabilities through a dedicated pavilion for the Center for Students with Disabilities Services and a range of activities designed to ensure their active participation. This reflects the Education and Student Affairs Sector’s commitment to fostering an inclusive university environment that enables all students to participate in activities and benefit from the University’s services and programs.

The celebration to welcome new and returning students is organized within the framework of the Education and Student Affairs Sector’s vision, which places the development of well-rounded students among its top priorities by striking a balance between academic study and participation in student activities, while providing students with opportunities to pursue their interests, develop their skills, and discover their talents and abilities.
