Ain Shams University and Luxor University Sign a Cooperation Protocol to Enhance Quality Assurance, Accreditation, and Academic Expertise Exchange
As part of Ain Shams University’s ongoing efforts to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation with Egyptian universities and foster the exchange of institutional expertise and best practices, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, signed a cooperation protocol with Prof. Sabreen Gaber Abdel Galil, President of Luxor University. The protocol aims to advance quality assurance and accreditation practices and develop specialized academic programs, contributing to enhanced institutional performance and higher standards of university education.

The protocol seeks to promote the exchange of academic and professional expertise in quality assurance accreditation, and specialized academic programs. It also aims to strengthen quality assurance and accreditation systems across educational institutions by drawing on the extensive expertise of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center at Ain Shams University, particularly in delivering the Professional Diploma in Quality Management Systems and Accreditation in Educational Institutions. The cooperation also encompasses training programs, technical support, and specialized consultancy services.
The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Prof. Manal Mohamed Mubarak, Director of the New and Developed Programs Administration at Luxor University; Prof. Mahmoud El-Geblawy, Director of the Quality Assurance Center at Luxor University; Prof. Michael Magdy Zaki, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels; Prof. Meryam Farid Ayad, Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center at Ain Shams University; and Prof. Rasha Hamed Bondok, Coordinator of the Professional Diploma in Quality Management Systems.

During the signing ceremony, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen emphasized that Ain Shams University is a long-established hub of academic and scientific expertise and remains committed to expanding cooperation with universities and institutions at both the national and international levels. He noted that this approach reflects the University’s drive to forge stronger partnerships and facilitate the exchange of expertise, particularly in human capital development, a key pillar of sustainable development.
The President of Ain Shams University also noted that the University is the second Egyptian public university to receive institutional accreditation, underscoring its commitment to implementing quality assurance and accreditation standards and continuously advancing the quality of education and institutional performance.
For her part, Prof. Sabreen Gaber Abdel Galil expressed her appreciation for the cooperation, noting that despite its relatively recent establishment, Luxor University has an ambitious, forward-looking vision and encompasses several faculties offering distinctive specializations aligned with the University’s strategic priorities and the needs of society. She also highlighted the University’s unique location in Luxor, a city renowned for its rich cultural heritage and tourism significance.
The President of Luxor University welcomed the cooperation protocol, describing it as the beginning of fruitful and constructive collaboration between the two universities and a step toward broader partnerships and greater exchange of expertise in the coming period.
Following the signing ceremony, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen accompanied Prof. Sabreen Gaber Abdel Galil and her delegation on a tour of the historic Zafaran Palace, where he highlighted the palace’s rich history and the restoration and maintenance work undertaken to restore its splendor and preserve its distinctive architectural character.
The signing of the protocol underscores Ain Shams University’s commitment to building effective partnerships with Egyptian universities and leveraging its academic and institutional expertise to support the advancement of higher education and promote a culture of quality assurance and accreditation.
