Students from Ain Shams University achieved a new milestone, securing five top positions in the second season of the "Tarab" Music and Singing Festival for Egyptian university teams. The five-day festival, organized by Suez University in collaboration with the Student Activities Sector and the Leadership Development Institute, featured music and choral groups from various Egyptian universities and institutes, including non-specialized groups.

The Ain Shams University students' participation in the festival was marked by an artistic atmosphere that showcased the richness and diversity of student talent. The event brought together young people from across Egypt on a single platform, aiming to discover and refine their skills, and to promote the values ​​of creativity, teamwork, and positive competition.

The closing ceremony was attended by Prof. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Culture, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ashraf Hanijel, President of Suez University, Dr. Karim Hammam, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Student Activities and Director of the Institute for Leadership Development, Maestro Selim Sahab, in addition to a number of presidents of Egyptian universities, members of the judging committee, participating students, and delegations from Egyptian universities and institutes.

Ain Shams University participated in the festival’s competitions with its student teams, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs.

The participation was coordinated and administratively supervised by Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University for Education and Student Affairs.

The university’s students achieved outstanding results in the festival’s artistic categories. In the group singing competition for public universities, the Ain Shams University team won second place.

In the solo singing competition for public universities, student Hind Ahmed won first place, while student Hussein Mamdouh won third place.

University students continued their outstanding performance in the solo instrumental competitions for public universities, with student Mohannad Ashour winning first place and student Amin Abdel Qader securing second place.

These results underscore the exceptional level demonstrated by Ain Shams University students during the festival competitions, highlighting their artistic talents and abilities. This also reflects the support and sponsorship provided by the university’s education and student affairs sector for student activities and the encouragement of talent in various fields.

It is worth noting that the second season of the Tarab Festival witnessed wide student participation across three main artistic tracks: group singing, solo singing, and solo instrumental performance. This allowed students to showcase their talents in diverse artistic fields, according to specific rules and standards to ensure fair competition and high-quality performances.

According to the festival’s regulations, each university participated in the group singing competition with two pieces: one from the folk repertoire and the other an original composition. Additionally, two students participated in the solo singing competition, and two students participated in the solo instrumental performance.

The closing ceremony featured a number of artistic performances that reflected the diversity and integration of the festival, embodying the spirit of cooperation and interaction among Egyptian university students. It concluded a journey of competition, training, and exchange of artistic experiences.

The festival's judging panel comprised a distinguished group of music professors and specialists: Dr. Montaser El-Qallaly, Professor of Arabic Music and Head of the Music Education Department at the Faculty of Specific Education, Assiut University; Dr. Dalia Hussein Fahmy, Professor of Arabic Music and Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, Ain Shams University; Dr. Magdy Ahmed Mohamed Sorour, Professor at the Higher Institute of Arabic Music; and Dr. Reham Ahmed Ehab, Professor and Head of the Musicology Department at the Faculty of Specific Education, Zagazig University.

The committee evaluated the participating talents and performances according to specialized technical criteria and standards, ensuring the highest levels of objectivity and fairness in the competitions.

The Tarab Festival concluded its second season, emphasizing the importance of student activities in discovering and refining talent, their role in building students' character and developing their abilities, and transforming talent and passion into a genuine experience of learning, competition, and creativity. This strengthens the presence of art and music in university life and brings together Egyptian university students on a single platform.
