Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University; Prof. Mamdouh Moawad, Acting President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology; Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research; and Prof. Sherweit El Ahmady, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector, and under the supervision and coordination of Dr. Noha El Rafai, Deputy Director of the Grants and Projects Administration and Coordinator of the Child University at Ain Shams University, the Faculty of Specific Education at Ain Shams University, headed by Dr. Dalia Hussein Fahmy, Acting Dean of the Faculty, hosted students from the ninth and tenth cohorts of the “Child University” program over two days, under the supervision and coordination of Prof. Amany Hanafi, Professor of Music and former Dean of the Faculty.

The activities were held as part of Ain Shams University’s commitment to supporting young learners and developing their scientific and creative skills, while providing them with the opportunity to become familiar with the university environment and various academic disciplines through an educational experience that combines knowledge, practical application, and talent discovery.

The activities included a variety of specialized artistic and creative workshops. The program began with an arts and crafts workshop supervised by Dr. Sally Emad Abu Hemeila, during which the students learned how to use a variety of materials and practically produced several handicrafts.

The students also participated in a drawing workshop supervised by Dr. Ahmed Wagih Kamal, where they learned the basics of pencil drawing and shading techniques and applied what they had learned by drawing several simple elements.

On the second day, the students took turns participating in sculpture and ceramics, and textile printing workshops. The sculpture and ceramics workshop was supervised by Dr. Abdel Rahman Gamal Mansour, during which the students created three-dimensional sculptures using Aswan clay, producing a variety of ceramic vessels, cups, plates, and cartoon characters.

The activities also included a textile printing workshop supervised by Assistant Lecturer Zeinab Abdullah, during which the students learned the “monotype” technique through painting with colors and reproducing their designs. They then applied the technique by creating their own designs on their T-shirts using their favorite colors.

The activities witnessed the participation of a group of male and female students from the Art Education Department at the Faculty of Specific Education, who contributed to the activities and interacted with the children throughout the various workshops, creating an engaging atmosphere that combined learning, practice, and creativity.

These activities are part of the “Child University” program’s efforts to develop children’s abilities and discover their talents in the fields of science, arts, and innovation, while fostering their passion for learning through practical and interactive experiences within the faculties of Ain Shams University.

The “Child University” program activities will continue from August 16 to 27, as part of the University’s commitment to providing an inspiring educational environment that contributes to building a generation capable of creativity, innovation, and shaping the future.

The Grants and Projects Administration plays a pivotal role in the coordination and logistical management of the program, in cooperation with “For Egypt” students, by welcoming, supervising, and accompanying the children throughout the daily activities, ensuring their safety and the smooth implementation of the activities in a safe and well-organized educational environment.
