Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences Students Participate in the International Summer School at the University of East London
As part of Ain Shams University's strategy to strengthen international academic cooperation and provide its students with global learning opportunities, and under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, and Prof. Rasha Ismail, Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, a group of the Faculty's students is participating in the International Summer School organized by the University of East London (UEL), United Kingdom, under the theme "Big Data and Cloud Computing for Smart Cities."
This participation reflects the faculty’s commitment to exposing its students to international academic experiences and enabling them to acquire advanced knowledge and practical expertise through immersion in a global learning environment, preparing graduates with the skills needed to compete in local, regional, and international job markets.
The 10-day program offers comprehensive academic and practical experience, featuring specialized lectures, hands-on laboratory training, and applied projects focused on leveraging big data and cloud computing technologies to develop innovative solutions for smart cities, in line with the latest global trends in technology and digital transformation.
The program also aims to enhance students' technical and practical skills, familiarize them with international academic practices, and strengthen their ability to apply knowledge to real-world challenges, supporting their readiness for postgraduate studies and careers in the global workforce.
In addition, the program includes a variety of cultural and social activities that introduce students to British culture through visits to London's most prominent historical and cultural landmarks, while providing opportunities to interact with students from diverse nationalities, fostering communication, teamwork, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
The International Summer School is one of the distinctive advantages offered through the International Dual Degree Programs, allowing students to benefit from the academic resources and research expertise of the University of East London, while enriching their academic and professional development with valuable international experience.
The participation is supervised by Dr. Hanan Yousry, Coordinator of the International Dual Degree Program, in coordination with Dr. Manal Tantawy, Director of the Faculty's Special Programs.
The Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Ain Shams University currently offers six distinguished dual-degree programs in partnership with the University of East London: Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Digital Multimedia, Robotics Computing, Software Engineering, and Bioinformatics
These programs award graduates a dual degree from Ain Shams University and the University of East London, enhancing opportunities for postgraduate study and strengthening graduates' competitiveness in local, regional, and international labor markets.
