From Innovation to the Job Market: Ain Shams University Celebrates Clinical Pharmacy Students' Graduation Projects

As part of Ain Shams University's commitment to promoting academic excellence, advancing scientific research, and aligning educational outcomes with the evolving needs of the job market, the Faculty of Pharmacy organized the presentation and evaluation ceremony for the graduation projects of sixth-year students enrolled in the PharmD Clinical Pharmacy Program.

The event was attended by Prof. Rehab Othman, Dean of the Faculty; Prof. Rola Milad, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Reem El-Kebarity, Director of the Ain Shams University Alumni Association Office; in addition to faculty members, teaching assistants, students, and their families.

During the event, students presented six outstanding research projects addressing contemporary pharmaceutical and clinical topics. The projects reflected the scientific knowledge, and practical skills students had acquired throughout their academic journey and demonstrated their ability to translate evidence-based knowledge into innovative solutions that contribute to advancing healthcare services.

         
   
         

In her remarks, Prof. Rehab Othman emphasized that the event represented the culmination of years of dedication and collaborative efforts among students, faculty members, parents, and administrative staff. She noted that the PharmD Clinical Pharmacy Program consists of five academic years followed by a mandatory internship year, equipping graduates with the competencies required to compete successfully in local, regional, and international job markets.

She also highlighted the faculty’s notable achievements, including obtaining national accreditation from Egypt's National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE), as well as international American accreditation, reflecting the high quality of its educational programs and enhancing graduates' opportunities for academic and professional advancement.

Prof. Othman further affirmed the University's commitment to providing students with a comprehensive support system that includes e-learning services, assessment and evaluation, medical care, student activities, student affairs, and academic and administrative support, creating an educational environment that fosters innovation, creativity, and excellence.

She praised the outstanding scientific and professional quality demonstrated in the graduation projects, describing them as a strong indicator of the Faculty's educational excellence and reaffirming that its greatest investment lies in preparing highly qualified pharmacists capable of serving society and competing in an increasingly dynamic healthcare sector.

         
   
         

Concluding her speech, she expressed her appreciation to parents, faculty members, teaching assistants, administrative staff, and program coordinators for their invaluable contributions to the students' academic success.

During the event, Prof. Reem El-Kebarity highlighted Ain Shams University's efforts to enhance graduate employability through collaboration with faculty career units, partnerships with employers, and the implementation of mentorship programs designed to develop students' professional competencies and improve their readiness for the labor market.

She also outlined the benefits available through the University's annual alumni membership, including medical, social, and cultural services, exclusive discounts, and opportunities to participate in professional events, workshops, and networking activities. In addition, she reviewed the Alumni Office's initiatives aimed at strengthening graduates' personal and professional skills and expanding their connections with potential employers, encouraging students to take full advantage of these services.

For his part, Prof. Ahmed Abu Zeid, Coordinator of the Clinical Pharmacy Program, welcomed attendees and expressed his appreciation to the Faculty's administration and the organizing committee. He described the graduation projects as the culmination of two years of intensive study, research, and dedicated work.

He explained that the projects were evaluated through a rigorous and transparent assessment system in which each project was reviewed by specialized evaluators according to three main criteria: research quality, oral presentation, and scientific poster presentation. The winning projects were selected based on their overall evaluation scores, emphasizing that the event was designed to showcase the students' academic achievements and the excellence of the Clinical Pharmacy Program.

The graduation projects were supervised by Prof. Ahmed Abu Zeid, Program Coordinator, in collaboration with Prof. Nermeen Victor, Deputy Program Coordinator, and Dr. Doaa Hamdy, Deputy Program Coordinator for E-Learning and Training.

The event concluded with the recognition of the outstanding projects and a commemorative photo session, celebrating the students' achievements in an atmosphere that reflected the high academic standards of the Clinical Pharmacy Program.
