The Faculty of Education Celebrates the Graduation of the First Cohort of the ETIP Program for Enhancing English Language Teaching Proficiency for Faculty Staff of the Faculty of Business
Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Rami Maher Ghaly, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Safaa Shehata, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University, the Faculty celebrated the graduation of the first cohort of the "English for Teaching and Instruction Purposes (ETIP)" program. This program, organized by the Faculty's Center for English Language Teaching Development, targeted faculty staff and teaching assistants in the Faculty of Business.

This initiative reflects the leading role of the Faculty of Education at Ain Shams University in supporting professional and academic development within the university, enhancing the quality of teaching practices in light of the requirements of modern educational programs, and reaffirming the Faculty's mission to utilize its academic and educational expertise to serve the university's faculties. It also supports faculty staff's readiness and effective academic communication in English, contributing to the development of university learning environments and improving the quality of teaching performance in programs offered in English.
The program was the fruit of fruitful academic collaboration between the two faculties. The Faculty of Education offered a comprehensive training program specifically designed to meet the needs of faculty staff and to address the nature of academic and teaching situations that require the use of English in explanation, interaction, assessment, and professional communication. The program consisted of 72 training hours distributed across three integrated levels, each with progressively developing competencies to build participants' linguistic, teaching, and professional skills.

The Faculty of Education ensured that the program combined theoretical foundations with practical application by engaging participants in diverse training activities, applied tasks, and micro-teaching. This provided them with real opportunities to apply their acquired skills in teaching situations closely resembling the university environment, contributing to the development of their performance in explanation, presentation, classroom management, and academic communication.
With the participation of a select group of faculty staff from the faculty, including Prof. Zeinab El-Naggar, Professor of Curriculum and Instruction; Dr. Sherine Youssef, Lecturer of English Literature; Dr. Hanan Nabil, Lecturer of Linguistics; Dr. Marwa Hanafi, Lecturer of Comparative Literature; and Dr. Omar Ahmed El-Nemer, Lecturer of English Literature.
The program concluded with three days of evaluation sessions, conducted within a comprehensive assessment framework that combined the educational and linguistic expertise of the Faculty of Education professors with the specialized expertise of the Faculty of Business professors. Representing the Faculty of Business on the evaluation committees were Prof. Mohamed Morsi, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Iman Ahmed Ismail Hashem, Head of the Economics Department; Prof. Medhat Mohamed Abdel-Aal, Professor of Statistics and Mathematics; and Prof. Amr Ibrahim Abdel-Rahman El-Etreby, Professor in the Department of Statistics, Mathematics, and Insurance, and former Dean of the Faculty. This comprehensive approach allowed for the measurement of participants' performance from a holistic perspective that considered linguistic proficiency, teaching performance, and the nature of their academic specialization.

The college culminated this pioneering experience by organizing a grand graduation ceremony for its first cohort. The ceremony was attended by Prof. Abdel Nasser Mohamed Rashad, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Hani Nadi Youssef, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Farid Moharram El-Garhy, Dean of the Faculty of Business. Prof. Safaa Shehata expressed the faculty's pride in this experience, which reflects its ability to offer high-quality programs that meet the professional development needs within the university. She commended the participants' commitment and serious engagement. Prof. Farid Moharram praised the distinguished role of the Faculty of Education at Ain Shams University as a trusted academic partner, noting the program's clear positive impact on adopting more interactive and modern teaching skills and practices. This experience was widely appreciated and discussed within the Ain Shams University Council, with the aim of generalizing it to the various faculties of the university. The ceremony concluded with an exchange of commemorative shields, honoring those responsible for the training, and presenting completion certificates to the graduates amidst an atmosphere of pride and appreciation for the collaborative institutional work.
