Egypt and Belgium to Meet Again in the Final Round of the International Moot Court Competition in Amsterdam

Today, the attention of the academic and legal community is focused on the Dutch city of Amsterdam, where the Faculty of Law team of Ain Shams University, representing the Arab Republic of Egypt, is competing in the final round of the International Moot Court Competition against the team from the University of Antwerp, Belgium, following an outstanding and commendable performance throughout all stages of the competition.

This achievement comes under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Rami Maher Sadek, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, with the University’s full support and continuous follow-up from Prof. Yassin El Shazly, Dean of the Faculty of Law; Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim El Shafie, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; and Prof. Tarek Ahmed Maher Zaghloul, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research.

The faculty’s team secured its place in the final round as a result of the tremendous efforts exerted by the participating students and the exceptional academic competence, legal skills, and professional advocacy they demonstrated, enabling them to reach this advanced stage in one of the most prestigious international legal competitions.

The Faculty of Law at Ain Shams University expresses its pride in its students, who have successfully elevated the name of both the University and Egypt on the international stage. The faculty wishes them every success in the final round and hopes that victory will be theirs, adding a new historic achievement to Ain Shams University’s distinguished record of accomplishments.

This achievement reflects the faculty’s commitment to developing students’ skills in legal advocacy and legal memorandum drafting, as well as its dedication to encouraging participation in international academic activities.

The team consists of the following students:

• Mahmoud Hazem Abdel Raouf Dakhil (Fourth Year – English Section)
• Mariam Ahmed Fawzy Soliman (Fourth Year – English Section)
• Merret Magdy Ramzy Yacoub (Third Year – English Section)

This success is the result of intensive training that continued for several months. The team is coached by Ms. Naira Abdel Tawab Ibrahim Gadallah, Senior Prosecutor at the Administrative Prosecution Authority, one of the distinguished graduates of the English Section and among the pioneers who have participated in moot court competitions since 2013, and Dr. Basma Adel El Sen, Lecturer of Public International Law and Deputy Director of the Faculty’s International Cooperation Office.

The team’s training and preparation are conducted under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Fathy Khalifa, Lecturer of Criminal Law and Director of the International Cooperation Office at the Faculty of Law.
