The summit, organized by several international bodies including the UNESCO Regional Office for East Asia, the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education, and the International Centre for Innovation in Higher Education (UNESCO-ICHEI), brought together more than 200 experts and representatives from 32 countries to discuss ways to build an ecosystem capable of meeting the demands of the labor market in the age of artificial intelligence.

Dr. Dalia Ahmed Youssef participated as a keynote speaker in a dialogue session entitled “Local Approaches to Skills Enhancement and Capacity Building,” during which she reviewed the experience of Ain Shams University and the Egyptian Center for the International Institute for Online Education, a pioneer in employing artificial intelligence and e-learning technologies, stressing Egypt’s strategic commitment to building advanced digital capabilities for faculty staff and students, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.

She highlighted the pivotal role played by the Egyptian Center of the International Institute for Online Education (IIOE Egypt Center), hosted by Ain Shams University, in efforts to localize IIOE initiatives across all higher education institutions in Egypt and the center’s partners from Egyptian universities, which number 27 Egyptian universities and industry partners, as it contributed to building digital capabilities and adopting micro-credentials programs specializing in artificial intelligence, in a way that serves Egyptian universities.

It works to enhance cooperation between academia and industry by offering specialized training programs, such as artificial intelligence, e-commerce, AI in medicine, and AI in agriculture, through the IIOE EGYPT training platform.
