In line with Ain Shams University's commitment to supporting and enhancing the scientific contributions of its faculty staff and encouraging distinguished researchers to apply for prestigious research awards, and under the patronage of Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, the university announces the opening of nominations for the 2026 Kuwait Prize. This prize, awarded by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, recognizes the achievements of Arab and Kuwaiti researchers in various scientific, literary, and artistic disciplines.
The prize includes:
* A financial award of 40,000 Kuwaiti Dinars (approximately US$135,000)
* A gold medal
* A certificate of appreciation
This year, the award is granted in the following fields:
- Basic Sciences: This includes physical sciences such as biophysics, astrophysics, atomic physics, particle physics, high-energy physics, geophysics, quantum physics, condensed state physics, and solid-state physics.
- Applied Sciences: This includes computer science and artificial intelligence, such as algorithms and data structures, software engineering, databases, networks and information security, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and data analytics and its applications.
- Economic, Social, and Legal Sciences: This includes educational sciences (including curriculum, education and technology, skills development, educational administration and policy, addressing learning difficulties, and educational reform with applications of artificial intelligence in education).
- Humanities, Arts, and Literature: This includes the study of civilizations and human thought, Arab, Islamic, and contemporary cultures, prominent figures in philosophical and social thought, the relationship between philosophy and science, and political science.
Eligibility Requirements
* The candidate must be of Arab nationality and must submit documents proving their Arab heritage.
* The candidate must not have previously won the award, and may not be nominated in more than one category.
* The candidate must hold a PhD or fellowship (in medical specialties).
* The candidate's scientific output must be consistently innovative and published within the last 20 years, including peer-reviewed research, books, or patents.
* Nominations are open through official channels as well as self-nominations, provided the candidate submits three letters of recommendation.

- Nominee's information and contact details (name, job title, email address, WhatsApp number).
- Recent academic transcript.
- Justification for nomination.
- Proof of registration in the university's awards database.

* Deadline for award applications: May 31, 2026
