In line with Ain Shams University's commitment to supporting scientific and cultural exchange and enhancing opportunities for international academic cooperation, and under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of the University, and Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and in cooperation with the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector, the Faculty of Engineering hosted an introductory seminar to familiarize graduate students, faculty staff, and alumni with the Fulbright Commission Egypt's programs. The seminar aimed to inform graduate students, faculty staff, and graduates about available grant opportunities and various application procedures.
Prof. Amr Shaat, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Prof. Sherweit El Ahmady, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Cooperation Sector, welcomed Dr. Maggie Nassif, Executive Director of the Fulbright Commission Egypt, in the presence of Ms. Noha Salah, Senior Program Officer at the Fulbright Commission Egypt, and Mr. Yahya El Tawil, representative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The seminar was organized by Prof. Marwa Khalifa, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Graduate Studies and Research, and Ms. Ingy El-Damak, International Agreements Coordinator at the International Cooperation Office.
During her remarks, Dr. Maggie Nassif expressed her pleasure at being at Ain Shams University, emphasizing her pride in the fruitful partnership and ongoing cooperation between the Fulbright Commission and the university, and commending the university's support for academic and cultural exchange programs.
Ms. Noha Salah, Senior Program Officer at the Fulbright Commission in Egypt, then presented details of the 2027–2028 academic year programs, which include grants specifically for Egyptian graduates, professors, and professionals to study, conduct research, and participate in professional training in the United States.
The programs included grants for university graduates and postgraduate students in various disciplines, including master's degree grants, research grants, and co-supervision grants for doctoral students.
They also included programs for faculty staff and researchers at research centers, such as postdoctoral research grants, MBA programs for university and research center leaders, the Hubert Humphrey Fellowship for Professional Development, and a foreign language teaching program for English language teachers.
The seminar addressed the applying requirements for each program, applying deadlines, and interview procedures, as well as highlighting the academic, research, professional, and personal benefits offered by cultural exchange programs to participants.
Mr. Yahya Al-Tawil, representing the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, emphasized the importance of Egyptian students and researchers abroad maintaining contact with the Egyptian Cultural Office in their host country and accurately registering their personal information to ensure they receive the necessary support and follow-up throughout their studies.
The seminar also addressed the regulations and procedures for study leave, conditions for traveling abroad, and the organizational procedures to be followed before and during travel and study abroad.
The seminar concluded with a Q&A session to maximize the benefit for attendees and to answer all their questions, facilitating registration for Fulbright grants and programs.
In this context, the Fulbright Commission in Egypt announced the opening of applications for its various programs for Egyptian students and faculty in all literary and scientific fields, in addition to programs for American experts and professors, for the 2027–2028 academic year.
