"Your Health is Important to Us" initiative at the Faculty of Education in cooperation with the Women and Support Unit and Students for Egypt Family

Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Safaa Ahmed Shehata, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Education, Dr. Ahmed Dayhoum, leader of the Students for Egypt family, Prof. Hend Al-Helaly, Director of the Women’s Support and Anti-Violence Unit, and Dr. Samar Ragab, leader of the Students for Egypt family at the faculty, The Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University, launched the Your Health is Important to Us initiative, in cooperation with the Women’s Support Unit and the Students for Egypt Family.

         
   
         

During the opening, Dr. Safaa Ahmed Shehata, stressed the importance of mental and physical health in students’ lives, and focused on the importance of providing a university environment that supports well-being and mental and physical health, praising the joint efforts with the Students for Egypt family and the Women’s Support and Anti-Violence Unit in organizing this important event.

Dr. Hend Al-Helaly, Director of the Women’s Support and Anti-Violence Unit, highlighted the value of the initiative and activating the role of students in health and social initiatives.

The day's activities included hosting a distinguished team of professors, where Prof. Mustafa Nagy, head of the medical examination clinics for breast tumors at Ain Shams University Hospitals and Dr. Yasmine Mustafa, Master of Public Health at Brunel University London, Public Health Officer, Rotary Caironworth, Member of the Rotary Giant Program Committee, and Prof. Nada Mohamed Mahmoud, Professor of Pharmaceutics at Ain Shams University, who provided rich insights into the topics of health and stress, and Dr. Yasmine Abdel-Al provided a number of valuable tips on how to deal with daily stress and achieve balance in life.

         
     
         

The event discussed comprehensive topics about public health, prevention of cancers that affect women and men, the importance of vaccinations in the early stages of life and early intervention, and emphasis was also placed on the importance of managing stress and its impact on public health.

The event included a distinguished workshop on stress management presented by Dr. Amani Abdel-Al, the clinical psychologist for the Women’s Support and Anti-Violence Unit, in which the students of the Faculty of Education participated actively and enthusiastically. This effective cooperation between the student family and the Women’s Support and Anti-Violence Unit reflects their common desire to raise awareness and educate students about health and self-care issues, which enhances health awareness in University community.
