The Faculty of Arts Theater Team wins first place in the university’s Self-Sufficiency Festival for the play “Someone’s Life”

The theatrical show “Someone’s Life,” in which the acting team of the Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University participated, won first place in the Self-Sufficiency Festival for Theatrical Acting, which was organized by the university under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty, under the supervision of Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, under the executive supervision of Mrs. Suha Al-Sabaa, Director of the Youth Welfare Department, Ms. Hoda Abdel Hamid, Head of Artistic Activity, and in the presence of several students, headed by Helmy Ahmed, President of the Student Union, his deputy Walaa Tayseer, Secretary of the Technical Committee Mohamed Gamal, and Assistant Secretary Youssef Mohamed.

The show won some awards, including The Excellence Award in Shows and Action Drama, won by Ahmed Adel Archimedes.

         
   
         

Second place in decoration was also won by Samia Mahmoud and Cyril Naji. The show also won second place for best writing by Mohamed Reda Mohamed, and best actress, third place for “second role” was won by Amira Mohamed Rashid.

The show won the award for Best Actor, Second Place, “First Role,” by Ahmed Fathi Mohamed. 50 male and female students participated in the show, and it was prepared and directed by Mohamed Reda.

Prof. Hanan Kamel said that the faculty spares no effort to support student activities and provides all means for the success of student activities in all fields. She urged the students to maintain first positions in the artistic classifications of the festival held annually. She also indicated that the show will participate in the “Ebdaa” competition affiliated with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the bid that wins first place is escalated to represent the university in this competition.

“Kamel” also praised the idea of the play and its attractive title, and praised the reshaping of international artistic and literary templates, as the idea was taken from the short story (The Great Gift) by Philip Van Doren, and the play dealt with the value and importance of existence and life, and how a person is affected positively or negatively by the environment surrounding him, and social relations with his peers and siblings

For his part, Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, praised the faculty’s theatrical team, which presented a harmonious and integrated show with technical aspects in terms of the quality of writing, directing, the team’s acting performance, and the quality of the technical components of the show, such as lighting, sound, decoration, and music.
