Addiction, disorders and sexual deviations between diagnosis and treatment Free workshops at the Faculty of Arts

The Alumni Follow-up Unit at the Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University organized two free workshops entitled: "Addiction" and "Sexual Disorders and Deviations… between diagnosis and treatment" for students and graduates of the Department of Psychology.

This is under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Hanan Kamel, Acting Dean of the Faculty, and the supervision of Prof. Rasha Al-Didi, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Iman Taha, Director of the Faculty of Graduates Follow-up Unit, and Coordinator of the Ain Shams University Alumni Association for the Faculty of Arts, Prof Mohamed Khattab, Head of the Department of Psychology at the Faculty, who presented the two workshops.

This comes within the framework of the Faculty of Arts' endeavor to qualify students and graduates free of charge, through a series of specialized workshops to qualify them for the labor market, which requires developing their skills in self-recognition and the other, dealing with different behavioral patterns of personality, knowing the manifestations of psychological disorders and the characteristics of psychological normality.

The topics of the workshop included: "Sexual disorders and deviations between diagnosis and treatment": What are sexual disorders in males and females - Diagnostic criteria and evaluation methods - Types of sexual disorders - Prevalence rates and treatment methods.

The topics of the workshop "Addiction between diagnosis, treatment and methods of prevention" included: the nature of each drug and addiction - symptoms of addiction and their impact on the individual, family and society - causes and types of addiction - types of drugs and their classifications - methods of prevention - methods and methods of treatment.

And Mrs. Nermin Gerges, an employee of the unit, monitored the reactions to the workshop through a questionnaire that was distributed to the attendees, and it was found that they desperately need such a useful type of free workshop, calling for more such training workshops.
