The Faculty of Dentistry celebrates International Handwashing Day

The Faculty of Dentistry, Ain Shams University, organized a celebration of the International Handwashing Day, coinciding with the World Health Organization's celebration of the International Handwashing Day under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Diaa Zine El Abidin, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Ramy Ghaly, Vice Dean of the Facultyof Dentistry for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Samia Abdo, Deputy Executive Director of Ain Shams University Hospitals and Director of the Central Unit for Infection Control.

         
   
         

Prof. Dr. Ramy Ghaly said that the celebration comes as an affirmation of the role of the Infection Control Unit and its importance in monitoring the medical behavior followed in clinics and sterilization rooms by doctors and nursing, as well as at the level of staff and workers in the college, pointing out that there is a cooperation agreement between the Faculty and the Infection Control Unit at Ain Shams University Hospitals to train all Faculty staff to raise competencies They have.

He added that just as Egypt had a prominent role in eliminating the C virus and Ain Shams University had a contribution to that, the university also seeks greatly to raise great awareness of infection control within all hospitals and clinics and apply it tangibly on the ground, especially with the nursing and workers body that may be exposed Because of the risk of infection as a result of their disposal of medical waste.

It is worth noting that the celebration witnessed some specialists educating and educating employees, cleaners and students on the proper way to wash hands, asking them some questions about how to take care of washing and disinfecting hands, and giving them some gifts in kind related to disinfection, sterilization and infection control.
