A workshop for consultants and specialists at the Anti-Violence Unit at Ain Shams University to develop their skills

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, the Women's Support and Anti-Violence Unit at Ain Shams University headed by Prof. Dr. Hind El-Hilali, Unit Director, organized an interactive training workshop for consultants, specialists, and focal points for youth care in the various faculties on campus, in order to achieve strategies that support women at the university, train them and develop their abilities and skills to communicate with students exposed to violence, whether outside or inside the university campus.

The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Hind El-Helali and presented a definition of the unit, its objectives and mechanisms of action, as well as the activities and services provided within the university by the unit, which achieve empowerment and support strategies in line with the state's plan for sustainable development 2030.

         
   
         
         
   
         

Prof. Dr. Hind clarified the meaning and definition of harassment, which is meant by any word with a sexual connotation that is not acceptable to the other party, stressing the unit's keenness to raise the level of its employees through training courses and workshops that it organizes continuously to ensure that a service is provided at the highest level of professionalism, pointing out that the unit has been Equipping it with places that work to give the person who has been subjected to harassment or violence a sense of psychological comfort, which helps him to express what he has been exposed to freely, assuring that cases are received by a trained work team, and in the event that violence or harassment has occurred within the university, disciplinary measures are taken from during a disciplinary board.

She also talked about ways to discover the person's sincerity and verify the truth of what he claims through psychological tests, and added that the unit provides psychological support to the person who has been subjected to violence or harassment, as well as courses for the person who has committed harassment to modify and correct his behavior.

         
   
         
         
   
         

Dr. Hind El-Helali emphasized the role played by the unit's consultants through a series of workshops that are organized to develop psychological and physical capabilities, which are pioneering and successful in overcoming the various crises and challenges that the complainants may face in the future.

Dr. Amani Abdel Aal, Clinical Psychologist and Art Therapy and Window Therapy Consultant, explained the skills of communication and psychological reception of cases until they reach the unit, achieving these mechanisms for these cases to be submitted to the president of the university and the deputies in accordance with the legal frameworks and the work of the unit.
