150 South African spine surgeons praise the pivotal role of Egypt and Ain Shams University

Within the framework of the pivotal role played by the Egyptian state in support of the African continent, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Mohamed Fathi Saoud, Professor of Orthopedic and Spine Surgery, President of the International Society for Spine Surgery and Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs, presented a lecture in the International Spine Surgery Course at the University of Witwatersrand University in Johannesburg, South Africa, over two consecutive days with video conference technology and in the presence of more than 150 Spine Surgeons in South African Hospitals.

Where Dr. Saud presented two lectures, one on the surgical repair of spinal deformities, and the second on the surgical fixation of sacral fractures (a method devised by His Excellency and registered in his name in all international scientific references).

During the two lectures, the participants praised the efforts of the Egyptian state in various fields and its tireless endeavors to meet the needs of African countries in order to integrate both the sustainable development goals, Agenda 2030 and Agenda 2063, which are concerned with the continent's national development plans.

The participants stressed that Ain Shams University, its scholars, and its medical sector in general have white hands on the experience of fraternal South African surgeons and pushed them towards providing a better medical service, which is consistent with Egypt’s permanent position to stand by its brothers from African countries and proves that Ain Shams University is proceeding in line with the orientations of the Egyptian state, considering the African continent as the strategic depth of Egypt.

It is mentioned that Prof. Dr. Abdul-Fattah Saoud is keen to enrich his scientific and medical specialization in the field of orthopedics, in addition to his leadership role in assuming the responsibility of heading the education and student affairs sector, where he participates periodically as a key lecturer in a number of international medical scientific events; With the aim of transferring his expertise to young doctors around the world and training and qualifying them at the highest level; This will push new medical cadres in the field of orthopedic and spine surgeries around the world, especially within the African continent.

Where he participates annually in the international session of the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, in cooperation with the World Society for Spine Surgery, as well as the joint international conference between the Korean Society of Spine Surgery and the World Society for Spine Surgery and the course of spine surgery at the Spine Institute in Cleveland, Ohio, USA United States of America, which is lectured by Prof. Dr. Abdul Fattah Saoud for more than 16 years, in addition to the spine surgery course at the German University of Saarland, which is one of the most important and largest courses in Europe, during which he teaches the most skilled spine surgeons in the world on the latest and most accurate spine surgeries, especially minimally invasive surgeries.

It is stated that Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, owner of a distinguished scientific school in orthopedics and spine, where he succeeded in registering many well-known and internationally registered innovations in his name in the field of spine surgery, including the creation of a surgical operation to stabilize the sacrum with medical screws in an innovative way that is now mentioned in international references and studied around the world.

He also previously chaired the International Society for Spine Surgery, as well as establishing and chairing the Egyptian Center for Training in Surgery of the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University.
