Admission Requirements

The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Science in single or double majors from Faculties of Science or Faculties of Girls’ Colleges at Egyptian universities (governmental, national, or private), in addition to graduates of Faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, and Agriculture, or an equivalent academic qualification from Arab or foreign universities or recognized institutes, in accordance with the general regulations of the bylaws.

Application Period: The program accepts applications at the beginning of the academic year.

Program Rationale:

The Diploma in Diagnostic Microbiology is distinguished by being offered by the Microbiology Department, which is considered the only specialized department in this field among Faculties of Science in Egyptian universities, giving it a unique academic and applied distinction. The program includes modern and specialized courses that keep pace with rapid developments in diagnostic microbiology and modern laboratory techniques, with a strong focus on applied aspects and practical skills that meet the needs of the labor market in medical and diagnostic laboratories and healthcare fields. The program is delivered by a distinguished group of faculty members with specialized scientific and practical experience in diagnostic microbiology and related biotechnology fields.

Skills Acquired by Graduates:

The Diploma in Diagnostic Microbiology aims to prepare qualified personnel with specialized scientific and practical skills in diagnostic microbiology and modern laboratory techniques, enabling them to work in medical and diagnostic laboratories, clinical analysis laboratories, health control and monitoring, infection control, and biosafety fields. The program also focuses on developing students’ skills in using biotechnology, molecular biology techniques, and modern diagnostic methods, enhancing their competence in healthcare institutions and research and applied laboratories. It contributes to qualifying graduates to efficiently handle modern diagnostic applications and keep pace with scientific advancements in microbiology and related biological sciences.
