Forensic Medical Consultation Unit at Ain Shams University provides specialized services including examination of violence cases, expert medical opinions to support legal cases, forgery and counterfeiting analysis, DNA testing for parentage determination, and preparation of reports on medical liability and professional malpractice
The Forensic Medical Consultation Unit at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, was established in 1994. It is a specialized entity in providing expertise and scientific consultations in the field of forensic medicine to serve justice and the community. The unit also aims to provide technical and advisory support to judicial authorities, medical practitioners, and individuals through the preparation of accurate forensic medical reports based on recognized scientific and legal standards. The unit contributes to raising awareness of the importance of forensic medicine and enhancing education and training in this field, thereby contributing to the achievement of justice and supporting legal and medical institutions.

Mission of the Forensic Medical Consultation Unit
To provide specialized forensic medical consultation services that support judicial, medical, and community entities through the application of the latest scientific and legislative approaches. The unit also strives to advance education and training in forensic medicine and to strengthen collaboration with relevant institutions to ensure the achievement of justice and the service of society with efficiency and transparency.
The Forensic Medical Consultation Unit consists of several specialized departments and committees working in harmony to ensure the delivery of distinguished services in the field of forensic medicine, in accordance with the highest scientific and legal standards.

There are no staff members dedicated exclusively to the Unit; however, staff from the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology are engaged when necessary.
Unit Objectives
* Providing forensic medical consultations to judicial authorities, medical institutions, lawyers, and individuals to ensure justice based on reliable scientific evidence.
* Preparing forensic medical reports in accordance with the latest scientific and legal standards to assist in resolving criminal and civil cases.
* Offering technical support in medical liability cases by evaluating incidents and providing impartial scientific opinions on medical errors and professional practices.
* Organizing training courses and workshops for doctors and specialists to enhance scientific and practical competence in the fields of forensic medicine and clinical toxicology.
* Collaborating with local and international bodies to develop standards and guidelines for forensic medical practices and to promote integration across related disciplines.
* Contributing to raising community awareness about the importance of forensic medicine and its role in achieving justice and protecting rights.

Unit Location: The Forensic Medical Consultation Unit is located within the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, MG Building – First Floor, Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University.
Working Hours: Sunday to Thursday, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
