In line with Ain Shams University's commitment to promoting the values of volunteer work and social responsibility, the university's Community Observatory Portal, in cooperation with the Egyptian Red Crescent, is participating in the celebration of World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, which falls on May 8th each year. This participation underscores the importance of the humanitarian role played by institutions and individuals in supporting communities and assisting the most vulnerable groups.
This initiative is under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University; Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Rami Maher, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; and Prof. Gihan Ragab, Supervisor of the Community Observatory Portal's activities.
The Community Observatory Portal affirmed that volunteer work remains one of the most important forms of humanitarian giving and creating a positive impact within society. Humanity begins with a single step, and volunteering becomes a true mission that contributes to spreading the values of cooperation, belonging, and social responsibility.
The Community Observatory Portal at Ain Shams University is also keen to support student participation in volunteer activities and initiatives, and to develop their awareness of the importance of humanitarian work and its role in building a more cohesive society capable of facing challenges.
Ain Shams University and the Community Observatory extend their sincere appreciation to every hand extended in giving and service, believing that volunteer work is one of the fundamental pillars for building a more supportive and humane society.
