The events commenced with a distinguished scientific day featuring specialized lectures delivered by leading physicians from Ain Shams University and other Egyptian universities. This was followed by an engaging awareness day attended by patients, their families, nursing staff, and students, aiming to explain the symptoms of the disease, its treatment methods, and to correct common misconceptions.

A key highlight of the activities was the launch of a simplified, full-color Arabic booklet, prepared by the unit’s team through exceptional efforts, making it one of the first comprehensive and accessible scientific publications in this field. The booklet provides a clear and well-structured explanation of the disease, reflecting the unit’s commitment to delivering an integrated service that goes beyond treatment to include awareness, training, and dissemination of global research.

The university’s Rover Scout group also actively participated in organizing events and delivering awareness segments for patients and their families, in addition to conducting an awareness campaign among faculty students to enhance community understanding of the disease.

Prof. Nagia Fahmy, Head of the Neurology Department, and Prof. Ali Shalash affirmed that these activities embody the unit’s mission to support patients with Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders for a better quality of life, while also training Egyptian and African physicians on the latest scientific advancements in this specialty.
