Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El Abdeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Francophonie University Center at Ain Shams University participated in the first activities of the Interreg NEXT-MED project, following its success in securing the joint funding grant from the European Union and the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie, as one of six specialized university centers across Egyptian universities.
The participation took place through an online workshop titled “Career Centers: Needs and Business Models,” organized by the School of Management at Aix-Marseille University in cooperation with the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie. The center was represented by Mr. Islam Ezzat, Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Archaeology and Head of the Founding Team of the Francophonie University Center, and Prof. Dalia Diaa, Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Communication Officer at the center.
The workshop addressed how to establish interactive employment platforms using Wooclap, identify the needs of beneficiaries of career center services, and select the most suitable business model for each center according to its vision and mission. It also reviewed the experience of the Francophone Career Center in Cotonou (Benin), a model like the Francophonie University Center at Ain Shams University, which is the first of its kind in Egyptian universities. The center serves French-speaking researchers, faculty staff, and students, and focuses on employment, entrepreneurship, digital skills development, and supporting participation in scholarship and research programs offered by Francophone institutions worldwide.
