Ain Shams University extends its congratulations to the winners of its special awards in the field of Physics for the year 2025.

Within the framework of Ain Shams University’s commitment to supporting and encouraging faculty members and researchers to excel and compete in academic and research awards, and to advance the trajectory of scientific research, and under the patronage of Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, the University announced that a number of its distinguished members have won its Physics awards for 2025.

Dr. Abdel Fattah Taha Abdo El-Gendy, Associate Professor in the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, was awarded the Prof. Latifa El-Houty Award. Dr. Sally Mahmoud Helmy, Lecturer in the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, received the Prof. Kareemat Mahmoud El-Sayed Award. Dr. Osama Ashraf Youssef, Lecturer in the Department of Physics, Faculty of Education, was granted the Prof. Hussein Abu Leila Award. This recognition follows their fulfillment of all established criteria, in accordance with the decisions of the University’s specialized judging committees, reflecting the high level of scientific excellence among its scholars.

The University Council approved the award results at its session held on March 30, 2026, chaired by the University President.

On this occasion, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Amani Osama Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and the University Awards Office extended their sincere congratulations to the winners, praising their outstanding scientific contributions and pioneering research that reflect the University’s academic standing, and reaffirming continued support for the research system and the promotion of innovation and creativity.

Dr. Abdel Fattah Taha Abdo El-Gendy represents a distinguished model combining academic excellence with practical application. His research focuses on employing physics to develop innovative solutions in renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and environmental fields, through advanced technologies such as wireless power transmission and plasma applications to enhance agricultural productivity, in addition to his contributions to international research projects and impactful community initiatives.

Dr. Sally Mahmoud Helmy exemplifies a promising young researcher with strong international presence. She earned her PhD with distinction from the University of Milan, Italy, through a fully funded scholarship. Her research focuses on biophysics and its medical applications, particularly extracellular vesicles, alongside an active academic record that includes international publications, participation in specialized conferences and workshops, and training at leading global research centers.

Dr. Osama Ashraf Youssef stands out as a distinguished scholar in nuclear physics. He obtained his PhD in nuclear engineering from Russia, and his research focuses on neutron calculations and nuclear fuel cycle analysis. He has published extensively in reputable international journals and possesses advanced expertise in simulation and modeling techniques, contributing to the development of peaceful applications of nuclear energy.
